Chapter 8Shenin didn’t hear from Tyler over the next two weeks. She felt sick most of the time but did everything she could to steel herself for the long haul. Once again, she and Tyler were at odds, and she hated it more than anything in the entire world.
Her phone rang at two o’clock in the morning, two and a half weeks after the last time she’d spoken to Tyler. She was excited to think it was Tyler, but when she looked at the screen it said “Sheila” and before she even picked up she knew.
“Hello?” she answered.
“Dev, it’s Sheila,” the other woman said, her tone hurried. “Tyler’s been hurt.”
