It's true, she's enraged. Vera knew it was foolish to be furious at him and still wait expectantly for him to come to share her bed.
She had heard them yelling at each other, Jack and Monica, and the only thing that proved to the world that they had made love and memories as man and woman, Tim.
She almost gave up waiting for him when she heard him go into his own bedroom and she didn't expect him to come into her room after she heard him slam his bedroom door.
It would have been all right if she stayed angry with him, but her heart skipped a beat when he closed the door and took refined steps towards her.
