Ava’s POV
One and a half years later.
That night was cold. The sky was dark. Clouds everywhere. Thunder too. Lightning shines here and there. The rain gave no sign as it came fast. I had just come back from my evening class. Zach dropped me off as usual. I didn't know how I would have fared in the rain if not for Zach.
“Goodnight,” he said as I got out of the car.
“Goodnight,” I said.
I waved and ran inside, my hands a stupid shield for the drizzling rain.
The rain started the moment I closed the door. I was so tired. The cool weather made me sleepy. I didn’t change my clothes. I didn’t touch my books. I didn’t eat anything. I just lay down on my bed and slept.
I had a dream.
In my dream, I heard voices. Three voices.
They were calling my name.
“Ava…”
“Ava…”
