Slowly the monolid eyes began to open. It was faint, but somehow he did not recognize where he was just ... unfamiliar. A place he had never seen before. His vision still felt unclear, but he knew for sure he was in a special, closed room.
He don't know where because the whole room was completely closed, all the walls were black. There was also no light, except for a yellowish incandescent lamp.
"Ah, you're awake. How was it? Did you have a good dream?"
A fierce smile appeared on the face of Bobby Brant, the head of the Brant Company.
Aland finally realized that his hands were tied behind the chair, as well as his legs so that he could not move freely. Aland tried to rebel by breaking free, but could not.
Seeing this incident Bobby laughed with satisfaction. The moment he was waiting for had finally arrived. He has been waiting for that arrogant boy to be helpless like this for a long time.
"Hey, come on why do you want to let go. You know, I've been waiting for this day for a long time. Why are you so hard to trap, anyway?"
"Daddy... why so cruel to me, huh? What did I do wrong?"
Hearing that question made Bobby grin then gave one hard slap landing right on Aland's cheek. His fair skin showed redness. "How many times have I told you, stop calling me Daddy, don't you get it, huh?!"
Aland Brant is the first child of Bobby Brant. Until this moment he still doesn't know for sure where mom is, they have been separated since childhood.
Bobby often changes partners. He is the perfect man as the head of the Brant Company, if only he didn't like to change partners. At the age of 45, he has been married 7 times and divorced 7 times. Of course that's what the public knows, who knows how many mistresses he actually has.
The Brant family calls their family culture infidelity. Regardless of how successful the Brant family was, it was a family custom that had been passed down from generation to generation.
Aland did not understand why his father hated him so much, even though Aland had always tried to obey his father's wishes.
"I just got back to Asia Road this afternoon, but why is Daddy keeping me like this?"
Bobby Brant did not answer. Just hearing his son's voice upset him, he hated everything about Aland. He had never be a father figure to Aland. Had it not been for his grandfather--Dixon Brant, who provided luxurious facilities for him, Aland would have looked just like an ordinary man.
"I came back after achieving a perfect score and wanted to show Daddy, but is this how you welcome your first child?"
"I don't care, even if you live or die, you know that."
Again and again, Aland had to swallow that bitter pill. His father still couldn't accept his presence. He felt frustrated and didn't know what to do. He had intended to go home to show how accomplished he was despite his father's constant disregard for him, but Aland was no longer an ignorant child. He had other plans; revenge.
His father didn't care about anything else but the company. So, Aland intended to run for the leadership of the Brant Company for the next generation. Of course, that was not the actual plan, he had someone more deserving to be the future leader.
"Alright, I'll tell you the truth. One day before going to Asia Road, I had contacted grandfather's assistant and said that I would run for the leadership of Brant Company."
"Don't you want to be the next generation's heir?"
"Don't you know Daddy? All this time I have given you a chance, but everyone says I have more right to be in that position than that human named Drake!"
Bobby looked seriously listening to Aland, a moment later he laughed out loud. Whatever it was, but for Aland it was an insult. Although he was used to being underestimated, but Aland would not be silent this time.
"Do what you can, i***t! I don't even care. In fact, it's possible that your grandfather has blacklisted you from the list of heirs."
This was unusual. Because Bobby was always angry whenever he brought up Drake, between them.
"If you were capable, you would have come here a long time ago. Why, you want to threaten me now? Tcih!"
Aland knew, threats wouldn't work this time. Rather than threatening, it was he who was currently being threatened. Everyone knows how cruel Bobby is. He did not answer immediately and thought hard about what could be the thing that upset his father this time.
"I have signed the contract through my personal assistant, Mr. Hugo." Aland smiled a smirk feeling like he won a game.
Booby pressed Aland's chin hard. "Pretend all you want, loser!"
Not long after, someone entered the room and showed a message. Bobby then looked at Aland with anger.
"You--"
"Yes, I didn't threaten and actually did it while still on the plane."
Aland is not a clueless little boy like before, now he is better at coping with his father's cruelty. Although, he also did not expect to be locked up like this.
"Wow, you're so brave."
"Daddy thinks Drake is still reliable? Never, he always loses to me. In achievements, let alone anything else. Holding grandfather's company? he won't be able to."
Bobby gave the code to one of the men wearing all black clothes.
Not long after, the man hit Aland's back using a baseball bat. With just one blow, Aland's body was knocked to the floor tiles.
"ARRGH! Th-that--"
"How dare you say that to me!"
Aland continued to moan incoherently, as he tried to pick up the car keys that had fallen not far from him. He moved slowly to try to free himself. Just as he managed to reach it, Bobby stepped on Aland's arm so hard that he screamed in pain.
"How dare you insult my son."
Bobby snatched the stick from the man and hit Aland's body several times until his screams could no longer be heard.
"You're w-wo-n't w-win."
Once again Bobby hit Aland's body with the baseball bat.
"You could have left by seeing your mother first, you i***t!"
His moccasins kicked Aland in the face until he was completely unconscious again. However, this time Aland was satisfied that he was able to piss Bobby off.
"Take him upstairs."
"Yes, sir."
In an unconscious state, Bobby asked his men to take Aland to a room on the 3rd floor of the building. An old building that has been uninhabited for years.

Bobby was relaxing with some alcohol in his office. It had been a long day for him. The news that Aland was going to Brant Island was an opportunity he had to take to kidnap Aland.
This was the only way for Drake to become the sole heir of Brant Company.
A Bobby worker came by whispering something in his ear.
"Oh, so he's here, let him in."
"Yes, sir."
Not long after, a middle-aged man wearing formal clothes and a black suit came in with an annoyed look on his face.
Mark. It was fun working with Bobby Brant because it made things easier, especially about his research. Their relationship began exactly 5 years ago, when Bobby Brant reached out to help his father's company which was almost bankrupt.
"You look well, Mark. How was your vacation?"
Of course he was upset because to Mark it was like a mockery. For the umpteenth time, again and again he had to work on tasks that were completely incompatible with his competence.
"What happen? Do you no longer want to stay in this industry? If that's the case, I can expedite the contract between your father's company and Brant Company."
Mark lost his pride as a professor, but also had no other choice. "You don't need to worry, sir. That woman is in a safe place now."
"About your robotics experiment, do you have any candidates?"
"Not yet, sir. This research needs more time."
"Good. I have someone you can use as an experiment."
Mark was happy that he could finally continue the experiment that had been delayed. He had been looking forward to this precious moment for a long time.
Mark was happy at first, but then felt suspicious. So far Bobby has often provided assistance only in the form of facilities.
"I heard that there will be a press conference this afternoon, so why did you bother calling me here when you're busy?"
"As I promised, I will provide all your facilities as long as you are still working with me. Including the person who will be your research material."
Mark didn't answer immediately. In this world nothing is free, especially for someone like Bobby Brant, it seems impossible.
"Is he your enemy?"
Bobby didn't answer right away. But, this is related to Mark's work this time. "He's Aland."
"Mr. Aland Brant? Are you serious?!"
"Yes, he is Aland Brant."
"But, he is your son, sir."
"Damn, I wouldn't want to have a son like him!"
Mark still couldn't believe what he was hearing now. In fact, it was better to have no one to research with, than to have Aland as an experiment.
"You mean, Aland is..."
"Yes, he is not my son."
