I couldn't believe Julian came back. Telling him to leave was one of the hardest things I'd ever done. Fighting back tears, I leaned against the door. Any second now, I'd hear his footsteps marching away. He'd walk out of my life… for good this time. The look on his face after my revelation didn't exactly say we'd be friends.
Seeing him at my door after thinking it completely did him with me had me elated. But then reality seeped in, and a heavy dose of sorrow hit right after. He came back…after I'd agreed to marry Stephen just yesterday.
If only Julian showed one day earlier—maybe I wouldn't have made the life-altering decision I did. I probably would have fallen back into his arms and found another way to save mine and my father's collective a*s.
