Ruby We didn't stay at Julian's office very long, but from what I saw, the place was huge and almost as lavish as his house. Seeing a part of his operation put into perspective just how successful he was. It was interesting to see him in his work environment, so serious and focused and in command, compared to the jokester and the sensual man I saw most of the time. About ten minutes after we left his office, we pulled into a parking lot beside an enormous brick structure. It was the bar that we were meeting up with his friends. A case of nervousness surfaced, and I forced it down. I was cursed with social awkwardness, but surely, I could hang out with Julian's friends for a couple of hours without crashing and burning. Julian slid out of the car and hurried to my side to open the door.
