Ezra sprung up into a sitting position and darted his head from side to side, while his heart thumped rapidly in fear. A nightmare, as scary as it was intense, had forcibly woken him up from sleep leaving all its undesired memories lucid in his head. He had a weird dream; in it Dahlia was bound to Valdemore's throne via a chain attached to a metal collar on her neck.
Meanwhile, Valdemore had picked up a sword and was about to kill his child! Tears rushed down Dahlia's face as she watched and screamed helplessly, tied up like a slave. “Nooo!!!” Ezra dashed over to save the child but it was too late - as soon as the sword touched the baby, he woke up.
