AT NOON, the area around the gymnasium became even busier. The local government set up large tents in the open field to bring out all the food prepared for everyone. Since news about the free medicine and check-ups had reached nearby towns and cities, a huge crowd of people from far away came over.
Even if the board of Fraser Medical Center wanted to extend the mission, the permit and supplies were limited to just three days, so they had to finish within that time. Under the large tents, big pans and pots were steaming. Someone cooked tons of rice and fish and veggies , and the delicious smell filled the cold mountain air. The food was free so patients wouldn't need to go home to eat—a great idea from the management that made everyone happy.
