15 Alex The girls were chatting about hair when our lunch plates arrived, and we all dug into our cheeseburgers. It hadn’t dawned on me, until then, how much Hannah was missing by not having a constant female presence in her life. My mother was prim and standoffish on a good day and my sister was busy with her own life, which now included finding a job––thanks to her relationship with me.
