WHEN STRENGTH FINDS LOVE
CHAPTER ONE-THE WOMAN WHO BUILT HER OWN LIGHT.
The first rain of the morning sun stretched across the city of Benin, painting the streets in shades of golds,cars hurriedly passed busy markets while shopkeepers arranged their goods for another day of business.in the middle of the bustling city stood a modern glass building with bold silver letters across it's entrance.
GRACE ADEBAYO ENTERPRISES.
Inside the building, the atmosphere was alive with activity.Employees greeted one another warmly as they prepared for another productive day.At exactly 8 o'clock,a sleeve black SUV pulled into the parking lot.
Out stepped was Mrs ADEBAYO a thirty two years old entrepreneur whose success has become an inspiration throughout the whole city.Dressed in a simple navy blue suit she carried herself with quiet confidence.she believed that true success was never measured by wealth but with the positive numbers of lives on one's positive influence.
Grace has not always lived comfortable
She was raised in a small village where her widowed mother sold vegetables to pay school fees.Many nights, dinner consisted nothing more than garri and groundnut.
Despite the hardships,her mother constantly reminds her,''Education is a treasure no one can steal from you".
Those words become grace's guiding principles.
She studied relentlessly,earned scholarship, graduated from the university with honors,and built her own company from a tiny office with one employee.Through determination and honesty,her business grew into one of the most respected companies in the region.
Yet success has not changed her heart.
Every Friday, grace visits hospitals, orphanages and struggling communities, quietly paying bills,settling medical bills and helping families without seeking recognition.Most people never knew where the help came from.
One rainy evening,after finishing a meeting with investors,grace asked her driver to take a different route home,as heavy rain poured over the streets,traffic slowed to a crawl.
Suddenly,she noticed a man standing beneath a broken bus shelter.His clothes were soaked,and he clutched a worn out folder against his chest as if it contained everything he owned.
Something about him caught her attention.
"Please stop the car grace",said.
He driver hesitated.
"Madam it's raining heavily.
I know grace replied gently."please stop".
The SUV pulled over.
Grace lowered the window.
"Young man",she called were are you going?"
The man looked suprised.He stepped close but kept a respectful distance.
"I am looking for a work, ma'am."
His voice was calm but carry the weight of exhaustion.
"My name is David okoro."
Grace noticed that although is shoes were torn and his clothes were old,he spoke with dignity.
"What is in the folder?"she asked.
"My certificate,"David answered I graduated from the university two years ago.Since then I have been searching for a job.Every interview ends the same way.
They tell me they'll,but they never do.
Grace remained silent for a moment.
She knew that look.
It was the look of someone fighting not to lose hope.
"Get in", she said .
David blinked in disbelief.
"Ma'am?,
"I said get in you'll catch pneumonia standing in this rain."
After a brief pause,he claimed into the back sit.
He they droved,David explained how his father had died before he graduated, leaving him responsible for a widowed woman and two younger sisters.Without money or connection,every opportunity seem to slip away.
Grace listened more thank she spoke.
When they reached a nearby restaurant,
grace invited him inside for dinner.
For David,it was his first proper dinner he has eaten in days.
Grace pretended not to notice how slowly he began eating before hunger finally overcome his restraint.
After dinner,grace handed him her business card.
"Come to my office by nine."
David stared at the card.
Are you offering me a job?"
Grace smiled.
"I'm offering you an opportunity,What you do with it is entirely up to you."
Tears welled in David's eye.
"Thank you ma,I won't disappoint you."
As grace drove away,neither of them knew that this simple act of kindness would change the course of both their lives
.
One will discover love.
The other will discover ambition.
And together they will begin a journey filled with joy ,sacrifice ,heartbreak ,and a taste of strength neither of them will both imagine.
