“I just wanted to know what I’d be missing,” she whispered as she drew back from me. “You kiss really good, Tony. It’s a pity you never did that before.”
“It always seemed a bit strange – with Ricky and me being such good friends,” I told her. “But it was a nice goodbye kiss, Tina. I’ll miss having a girl as pretty as you in my neighbourhood.” I leaned forward and kissed her again – she didn’t resist.
“You and Tina seemed to be getting on well,” Mom mentioned as we cleared up after the party. “You know she’s dating that football player…what’s his name? You used to help him with Math at school.”
“Wayne. Yeah – but I just wanted to see what I missed out on after all these years. It was just a goodbye kiss, Mom. Anyway, she turned out nicely; Wayne’s a lucky guy.”
