PURIFY: CATALYST

While watching from a distance Lei was approached by an old man covered with tattered cloth covering his face revealing only his eyes that shows the color of a universe, the old man was holding a staff. Lei didn't pay attention to the old man as he thought the old man was just a passer. However, the old man asked Lei for directions. Lei didn't heard the old man's question as it was so shaky and low.

"Sorry but I can't hear you, can you make your voice a bit louder?" But suddenly the old man grabbed Lei's hands and then he was transported to a dark room filled with nothingness. There Lei heard a voice "ah so you've found my catalyst old man Kang, what a splendid choice" Lei cannot talk nor make a movement. He was so terrified "what is this I can't speak, I can't move, I feel like I'm Bering swallowed by the... but suddenly he was returned back to where he was before while shouting.

Everyone heard his scream and rushed to his location. Zehai asked "Lei, what's wrong?" Lei said that there was an old man he, Lei couldn't remember what just happened anymore and just said "I don't know, I can't remember" he wa then brought inside house and was told to stay and rest. Zehai told Lei to not stress himself so much about what happened yesterday.

A day has passed and his classmates decided to take on their first job, Zehai and Bairon told them that it is okay for them to take for at least low rank quests for now since they already know how to use their magic. Lei was the least useful among the group and since he is not an adventurer he only stayed at the house doing nothing. Later that evening his classmates came home all tired, the delinquent classmate of his, Jahad, ordered Lei to get some food ready for them, "hey weak ass, go and prepare something for us, so that at least you're useful". Harold countered Jahad and told him to stop. However, Jahad even said something worse. "Why Harold? Don't you feel the same way? We all have our purposes to serve until we get home, he is the only one that has nothing to do but stay here, does that sound fair?" Lei also sees himself useless. Lei then went to the kitchen and prepared dinner. His classmates liked the food and thanked him.

As days passed, the same routine persisted. However, the treatment of some of Lei's classmates changed little by little. As if he became their slave.

Everything that requires work inside the house was tasked to Lei.

When he is cleaning, some of the girls would throw trash and grease and some of the boys would slap his neck and hit his head or even kick him when his on the way while saying mean things like useless, gross, and even say that he is a pest. He is powerless he can't hit back. His classmates totally changed. Power corrupted their minds.

Lei's emotions all messed up, he is envious, angry, vengeful, and sad inside. "How did it end up to this, I can't keep going like this"

Four months have passed in this world already and Lei experienced hell through these months.

Lei could not take it anymore, he decided to leave the group and find his own way home. He does not care anymore and just want to leave the place.

"My name is Lei Ejin from this day forward I'm on my own." Lei took the chance when his classmates are on the raid. He packed up all of his things and decided to go to the north and leave the Kingdom.

While Lei was on his way there, he encountered the old man from before who grabbed his hand. He immediately approached it but before he can even touch the old man's clothes he was teleported to a forest. The trees were so big that the roots can't even compare to human's normal height, the air is thin, and the light can even barely reach the ground.

"Aahh faith brought us together my catalyst"

Lei was so confused and terrified of the current situation he is in. "Old man, get me out of here" Then he heard a voice of a female laughing. "I know what you desire boy, I know how you feel, I know everything about you."

"Who are you?! Come out!"

"Quite the brave one for someone who do not have power"

"You can't get anything from me, you won't benefit anything from me, I just want to get out of here"

"Boy, you do not know how much potential you hold" Then the voice from before joined the conversation as well with a laughing tone, "For now, my catalyst is yet to have the body to resist and contain my power, for now I shall give you this gift for becoming a candidate of my catalysts"

Then after he said that, Lei returned to the road, but it was already night time. Same as last time, Lei cannot remember a thing that has happened and did not even notice the time gap between the time he left the house. Little that he know for him having no mana and magical capacity was already a blessing it was his power which he and his classmates deemed useless. He is now a potential holder of a mysterious power. After what happened, the unknown person behind those voices from before gave Lei a gift which he lately discovered later that morning...
