I was still looking for my mate discretely, I saw the money on the bed when he left, and I knew right away who ran him off, that ass forgot to take off his money clip. I handed him his money back, he looked at me and smiled saying, "I had to get rid of him before your father found out and had him killed to protect your secret." I didn't deny it, he sighed and said, "I am sorry, I didn't know, but it was dangerous for him to stay here," I said, "But it's more dangerous for him out there alone." Nex backed off and poured a scotch from my wine bar, he said, "You know I love you all including the shithead, Lucas but if you want to become king, you need to play the game and change the law, I don't care who you love, Lear, but my brother is old-fashioned, and it will take a lot to change his mind, but he will do it if you show him you will live up to you word and be a better king than him."

I was shocked my uncle was on my side, he smiled and said, "Times are changing, you are the closest thing to kids I have, and my family comes before duty." I looked at him and asked, "How come you never took a mate?" He leaned on my glass door looking out onto the balcony, taking a drink, and said, "The woman I was going to take as a wife before you could remember ran off with her guard a long time ago."
