Chapter 10: Death of the King, Rise of an Empire Part 1

"f**k, ahh," I finished emptying my c*m inside Kiko and kissed his shoulder before we collapsed on the bed, we breathed heavily as he kissed my chest before resting his head on it. I rubbed my hand up and down his back, looking at the ceiling, so many things have happened these past two years with strengthening our borders and allieships against Roman. Queen Lily left him for Aidan, and they have a young son together, Kyan became King after Roman challenged him and lost, and Nex attended the challenge and filled me in, I was glad Roman was no longer on the throne. Roman, however, was a snake and escaped soon after, attacked Lily, and then went into hiding, rumor has it that he is the Rogue King, and their territory is blocked by magic. Many of his allies went into hiding and others were killed, but those in hiding will be watched and dealt with after the threat of Roman is neutralized.
I was brought out of my thoughts when the alarm went off and rogues attacked us, Kiko and I jumped out of the window heading to help our people. Most of the citizens were in lockdown for the most part, but others had nowhere to go, and we needed to assist, Lucas was cut off from the family money again and disappeared yesterday, I hope he remembers how to fight wherever he is. Nex had men with my father and my son joined me with his friends from the left of the field where the battle was taking place, Barron was on his way, and we needed to stay focused before we lost people. Shifters in Ironside were fighters, for the most part, and not many would back down from a fight, I mind-linked my son about his siblings and he notified me they were safe. Once our allies showed up, things were balanced out, Nex took off to help in Frogger Forest and Paxon showed up with his dragons and set everything ablaze, I was grateful.
Kiko and my son, Arkym, looked at me, they were still in their beast's form and I nodded for them to make sure everyone was alright and to help the injured. I checked on my father, who was bathed in blood, I could tell he enjoyed the killing like old times, Jalani was standing in front of him in her panther form. She was such a 'nice kitty' as I patted her on the head, and she hissed at me, we laughed as she walked away, and my father said, "Baby, he was joking," and ran after her. I smiled because I loved Jalani, she made my father happy, I wish they had made their relationship known already because everyone in the Palace knew. Later, I was about to announce the men we had lost and update my father about Lucas when a shockwave went through Ravena, we all knelt and bowed, because the Supremes were back in power, as Aidan let it be known, there was a death of a former King and the rise of a new empire.

The alarm went off and Rowe was out front heading to the field with his men, Polly went to make sure our mother was safe before joining the fight. Elijah sent some vampires to help out and once we had everything covered here, we headed over to Ironside, Toffe mind-linked me, and we knew we were going to be there a little later than we thought because I promised King Silas I would help him out before we headed over there. Once we reached Ironside, we killed everything in sight, a few of Silas's shifters lost their lives and some were injured, but we made sure we had it covered when a few of Dominic's dragons showed up to help keep Ironside safe as we took off to head over to Sophie's pack. I was angry that Roman would send men to take his daughter out like that, he had surely lost it and I knew Aidan and the others were waiting to end him.
My men and I were in our bear form, running through the forest, heading to my former mate's pack, we had been waiting for this battle for a long time, all the pain we endured at the hands of Roman and his shenanigans. Polly was angry, no longer afraid to face him if she had to, but I wanted revenge for what he did to my sister. Also, because of his stupidity and forcing Sophie to mate with Seth, he causes her harm in the worst way possible. Some of the shifters ran among us, and I was linked by Emile, who told me that Elves would be joining us as Toffe would be occupied defending Sophie's pack. Polly was on my right and Nolix on my left, and we were heading into battle to the death, even the females fought with the men, and we, bears loved the havoc and c*****e, and we were ready.

King Silas
We have been a small community of shifters since the bears split from our lands, but we were still in alliance with them and the new King, Kyan. Ravena was overjoyed when Roman was dethroned and his son took over, I was surprised Aidan hadn't announced his return to the throne, but he had other plans. We were never really fond of Roman as he hated shifters, we could shapeshift to anything that he found dangerous, but I have laws against that, and anyone caught impersonating anyone usually has prison time. Roman kidnapped so many of our refugees hiding from him and some of our missing daughters, we were grateful the Dragon King, Dominic, had found some of them and returned them to us. We knew about the impending war and were right in the path of the rogues, we were attacked, and the bears helped us along with witches who helped protect our borders.
Elijah had vampires help with the attacks and in no time, the rogues were dead, we lost about three shifters protecting their families and were angry. Some were injured, but we were grateful, that Elijah left some of his men to help protect us during the war in case more attacks happened. We hope this time, King Aidan kills Roman in the worst way possible, I wanted to see the battle between him and Aidan, but I opted out to stay with my people, I'm sure we will hear the stories of how Roman cowards in fear before he dies. I looked at Lawrence before he headed to find Lucas, he had disappeared and hadn't been returning my calls, I was worried about him. He may be a menace, but he was my son, Nex was fighting in the war because he loved the action, and I wasn't worried, he would be back because my brother could hold his own.
My daughters were in the safety of the Palace and Kiko was assigned to me because Lear trusted him with my life and Kiko was good at what he did. I looked at Kiko and said, "I will step down soon, I want you to convince my son to mate you," he looked shocked and said, "He has a mate, Your Majesty," I looked at him, unaware of this and asked, "Where is he?" Kiko said, "You should talk to your son, he will tell you what I shouldn't," I nodded in understanding waiting for good news about the war. It was late evening when we got word of Roman's death, a link came through from Aidan announcing the return of the Supremes to the throne, and we all knelt in solidarity and acceptance. We could feel the aura throughout Ravena, the gasps among people could be heard until total silence, and we accepted the Supremes as our leaders, they were back in power.

Two Days Later
We were still looking for Lucas, and he wasn't dead, or else, I would have felt something, but he was hiding, or worse, imprisoned somewhere. Lear had men searching for him still, and I looked at my mistress, Jalani, and hugged her, I wasn't ready to call her my girlfriend because I was afraid of what the future held for us. Lear walked into the room and smiled, I kissed Jalani's forehead, and she curtsied at Lear because he was the future heir to my throne, not just a Prince, before leaving us. I knew Lear would do a good job and I hated that I stopped him from being happy years ago, but it did give me my grandson, who I adored, Lear hugged me and smiled, saying, "You should mate her, she makes you happy, Dad." He was right, she does, and I should think about it, I haven't loved anyone since their mother because I still burn a candle for her.

Nexus
I was dreaming about relaxing in a field and could have sworn I heard pounding at my door, I looked at my watch and saw it was early in the morning. I was exhausted from the fighting and planned on sleeping that day, I took my time going down to the front door, I had my gun in my hand because, unless this was a family emergency, waking me like this was a crime. I saw Roman get his head ripped off and his body burned, his skull was on a spike in the square of Frogger Forest as a reminder of what happened to traitors. As I got closer to the door, they pounded again, and I opened it to see my ex, Leni, she had her suitcase and walked past me, saying, "I love what you did to the place." I was confused and about to shut the door when it stopped, and I saw someone's foot blocking the door from closing, this guy who had other bags, looked at me, he was about my height, and smiled, I asked, "Who the f**k is you?" I had my gun in my hand, and he looked at it while Leni yelled, "Don't do that, Nex," the guy said, "You don't want to do that, Dad."
