I was making lunch when my phone rang, I was surprised because no one really called me, usually, my husband would mind-link me if he wanted me. The number was unknown, but I answered anyway, it was Jones, and he said, "Hey, stranger, sorry I didn't know if you were alone." I smiled and said, "I am alone," he said, "We need to meet up, I will send my location, and be discreet," before hanging up. I looked at the location and teleported, I was happy I could travel that way since mating my husband, Jones, was standing in this room, looking out the window, he turned to me and smiled. I ran and hugged him, he hugged me back and whispered, "You look good, kid." I started to tear up and looked into his eyes and asked, "Where is your scar?" He backed up and said, "I've changed since you last saw me," taking a blood bag off his bed, I was shocked.
He said, "I was attacked a few months ago, I fought and got away, but I was bitten, and it hit the bone, I woke up three days later a hybrid, no one knows but the boss, I could still smell of wolf until too late." I smiled, and he said, "It was my advantage against enemies," I asked, "Did you register or report it to Beta Drax? They can kill you for changing unlawfully." He smiled and said, "I didn't, but I was attacked, so they won't kill me, but now you know, and although you smell delicious, I won't harm my friend." I smiled, and we sat down, he talked about things I missed and how his life had been, he let me know he was here for the charity dinner and ball, I was glad he came, but he didn't seem happy. I asked him, "Why are you really here?" My heartbeat picked up, and he said, "Relax, I'm not here to harm you, and he won't come after you; he just wants the bracelet Barry gave you, it was important to him."
I closed my eyes and said, "It's at home in the vault, for some reason I never got rid of it," he said, "Good because if I go home without it, he will kill me, he knows I helped you." I swallowed and said, "Then why go back? He is crazy," he says, "Let's say, I try to keep the peace, there are things you didn't know back then, and I want to keep them secret." I held his hand and took him home with me, he looked around the mansion and said, "You did well for yourself, little one," I smiled and said, "Jones, my husband, can protect you here, I don't want you to go back." He turned to me and sniffed the air, he asked, "That scent, what is it?" I wasn't sure what he was talking about, he picked up a handkerchief from the chair, which wasn't my husband's or any of the kids', I said, "It may belong to one of my guards," he smiled, putting it in his pocket.
I went into the vault while he stood by the bedroom door, and looking around, I went out of the closet and handed him the bracelet, it had Barry's and my names engraved. I loved him once, until he got abusive, and I was scared shitless of him, I couldn't believe how timid he had me, Faux was attached to him and heartbroken everytime he hit us. He never loved me, and I see that now, Jones took the bracelet and said, "I will see you at the ball tomorrow," we hugged, and then we heard the loudest roar ever, we turned to see my husband, who was giving Jones the death stare. I stood in front of Jones, but he was not scared; he just stared back at Lear, and then he bent his neck in submission to my husband. Lear looked at me and asked, "What is going on here?" Pulling me to him and inhaling my scent.
I hugged him, calming his beast, and said, "He is my best friend, he saved me years ago....," he cut me off and said, "Jones, the one I saw in Toffe's vision." I nodded, and he smiled, saying, "Thank you for protecting him," Jones smiled and said, "I will always choose Orzel." Jones joined me and Lear for lunch while we caught up, he even offered him a job here and protection from his mafia boss, he said, "It's not that easy to walk away because there are things you don't know but when the time is right, I will be back here no questions asked." I offered to let him stay in the guest room, and we had his things brought from the hotel, Lear left us to catch up by the pool, and I was glad I had my best friend spend time with me. I saw him by the pool smelling the handkerchief, and I wondered whose it belonged to, and if they were his mate.

Night of the Charity Dinner & Ball
I was getting ready when I saw Lear in his slacks fixing his hair, he looked so handsome and my d**k jumped, I walked over to him, and he looked at me before kissing my lips. However, that led me to Ironside and my mate, he squeezed my hand in a comforting manner because Michael stared at me, I got a link, "Can we talk?"
I saw Pearson looking at me, so I excused myself to meet with him, we walked over to a private area, and he said, "I am glad you turned your life around." I smiled and said, "I did, I want to apologize for hurting you the way I did, there is no excuse for that, but I was in between a rock and a hard place..." He stopped me and said, "Water under the bridge, I see you are happily mated and so am I, I guess things happen the way they did to get us here in life," I agreed with him. He introduced me to Vorloff when he came over, I smiled and shook his hand, Zack wasn't there because he was busy on business, but I was glad Pearson was happy before I excused myself. I turned to walk back to my husband when I saw Kiko heading to the bathroom in a hurry, I paid it no mind and headed over to Lear when Gamma Ty arrived with his mate, Addison. I was glad he came because I needed answers about being able to carry children.

I was running late because I was in my former partner's bed, we started sleeping together, which helps take my mind off Lear, she knows it's just s*x. I promised Lear I would be here, although I should keep my distance unless it had to do with the kids, I was over there yesterday to visit with them, but left before lunch to avoid meeting Lear. Orzel had blended into the family so well, I hated it, but he was his mate, and there was nothing I could do about it. The valet parked my car, and I headed inside to the ballroom, it was beautiful and huge, this charity will be a success for sure. I grabbed a flute of champagne as the waitress passed and looked for my seat, I sat down feeling strange. I saw this handsome stranger talking with a woman; he had green eyes with streaks of red in them, which was strange, he had smooth skin, and was handsome.
He looked at me and I felt the bond, I looked at my hand, realizing I had left my ring back at Becca, "f**k," I thought, he kept staring at me as I panicked. He mind-linked me, "Relax, love, we need to talk," I was shocked he could link me, which proved he was my mate, and I did the only thing I could do; I ran. I headed to the bathroom and tried catching my breath, I didn't know what to do; he was with a woman who was all over him, and probably his wife. I don't remember seeing a mark, and his eyes, it was blended so he was a hybrid, 'f**k,' I needed to think when my beast, Lez, said, "Relax, we will figure it out." I closed my eyes, inhaling when I felt the tingling on my arm and a kiss on my neck, I didn't open my eyes for fear that this was real. I ran into my mate because I left my ring at my former partner's house, and I felt a kiss on my earlobe, and he whispered in my ear, "We need to talk, don't run again."
