Chapter 6 Lydia’s eyes flew open and she gasped, sucking in air and trying to remember where she should be. The familiar view of her own bedroom window calmed her slightly as her hands flew over her pounding chest. She sat up, wondering what time it was. A glimpse out the window told her it was nearly morning, but a few stars continued to twinkle in the twilight sky, and she closed her eyes for a moment, trying to remember exactly what it was she’d been dreaming. Most of the details evaded her, but she was certain of two things. She’d lost something, something of significance, and she was searching everywhere for it, whatever it may be.
