The wedding took place only a week’s time from the proposal, much to Francesca de Lisle’s dismay, but Isaac explained he was preparing for a business trip to New York City, and he should like for Lydia to accompany him as his wife. He said it would serve as a honeymoon where they could see the sights and partake in the entertainment the big city had to offer while he still participated in his meetings. While her mother would’ve loved to have had months to plan such an affair, she had agreed to hurriedly throw together a ceremony for a small amount of guests so that Lydia could go along with Isaac on the trip with the promise that they would hold a larger reception upon their return.
