So that's the plan. Look out Head Hunter I'm coming for you!
My personal declaration has been what's keeping me going through my training. I'm going to take the fight to Head Hunter, f**k running away and waiting for him to make his move.
"If we are going outside the city we might as well take our time train up and prepare ourselves, because we will need it. Going after the Head Hunter in uncharted waters might as well be a death wish so we definitely have to prepare ourselves". What Eddie told me as well occupied my mind a lot. I had to steel myself because it was quite daunting thinking about doing something as ballsy as that.
Even if we had more than a month to prepare, if we were to start venturing outside of the city to search for Head Hunter, who knows what we might encounter over there.
It's been about a week after we infiltrated that abandoned warehouse. I would say that I'm somewhat back to normal. But damn, that past week really kicked my butt. Doing absolutely anything hurt so f*****g much but nonetheless I was able to push through it.
So this begins my month of training to prepare for what's coming.
I really wanted to work on further developing my newfound technique. This recently created technique would definitely become very vital moving forward since it could block incoming projectiles. I was already running out of ideas for a name for this new technique.
Now that I think about it, I already had quite a good amount of techniques under "Blade of the Four Winds: Zephyr, the gentle breeze". And I was running out of spring, or west wind themed names for my new technique. Naming it Wind Deflection just seemed so bland and boring. So the other goal I set for myself for this month or so of training is to eventually come up with a good name for it.
A week went by and I spent it working on Pirouette of Spring. Since I didn't really have anyway of training my new technique since I don't have anything to block, I'd just rather work on one of my defensive techniques.
I stared tying tires and other small objects and hanging them on tree branches so I could sway them and work on my head movement. And I also started looking up online footwork drills for boxing as well. Even though I use a sword and there is a different type of training for its footwork I wanted to also on stuff like boxing drills because you never know when I might get in a situation where I have to fight without my sword.
Since I had a month or so to just train I decided to do split my training into two and half them alternating each week. First week was for head movement and footwork and practicing using the winds to aid my movement with just my body, while the second week was for my blade work and using the wind with my blade and polishing my techniques like what I have been doing every time I train.
Two more weeks pass by and I was doing pretty well. New forms of training is always rough when you first start out. But even in such a small amount of time, I would say I'm doing quite a good job.
Eddie told me that I should expect him to notify me by the the end of the month to talk about our plan moving forward. I had one last week before Meeting with Eddie.
At last, it was the last day of the month, today's training was especially intense because I wanted to end of with a bang. I woke up earlier than usual and I have been training since sunrise.
I spent all that time just working on using all my techniques in succession. At first I was thinking of and trying out different combos for my techniques under "Blade of the Four Winds: Zephyr, the gentle breeze", but the longer I kept training, the more I kept leaning towards just freestyling it. I didn't want to keep thinking about my next move, I just wanted to move the same way the wind flows.
As I continued to repeat the same techniques over and over again, I was so engrossed with what I was doing that I failed to notice that Eddie had already arrived.
"Hey kid! It's been a while"
I turn around to see Eddie grinning as he held up a paper bag of his favorite fast food burgers.
I took a break from my training as me and Eddie caught up with one another. As we ate burgers and fries, he told me what he was up to this past month.
"As expected, this past month all of the bases that Head Hunter uses have been evacuated. He probably didn't expect us to actually raid these bases. Even the two bases that I suspected to be hideouts as well were empty."
"So we really have to venture out the city now?", I ask Eddie.
"A month from now, we leave. I have a lead that I got from snooping around the abandoned warehouses. We head west, apparently Head Hunter has been using the port harbor to supply weapons for most of the goons he hires."
"If we want to take the fight to Head Hunter we might as well cut off his supply of weapons that arrive from the port harbor. We'll spend this next month actually preparing to head west, you and I still both have barely enough cash to head there and I'll spend this next month training with you so we can polish up your skills", Eddie said.
"If you're going to join me in my training can we do more defensive drills?" I ask Eddie.
I've been working on my techniques that help me with defense and I want to keep working on them so I want to spend as much time as possible simulating possible fights that I'm going to encounter in the future.
"Sounds like a plan", Eddie says with a smile on his face.
