Pirouette of Spring

1615 Words
From what I've seen from the Internet,     Zephyr was one of the four Wind gods. He was the west wind, characterized as a gentle and warm breeze, with which he brought the season of spring.     Much like Zephyr, I've modeled my technique after the gentle breeze of the west. It was a technique which was needed to be performed with gracefulness, from footwork, to bladework, and as well as breathing.     There was a reason why I practiced imitating the Piercing Step, it was a move that prioritized speed and precision. With my training with using the winds in quick bursts I began to formulate how I could use them in tandem with my fighting style.     Hence, the creation of the  "Blade of the Four Winds: Zephyr, the gentle breeze". Zephyr brought gentle winds, and with this technique it aimed to bring forth the same thing.  I had in mind a technique that utilized slashes that were gentle yet precise, quick and decisive to finish battles quickly, nimble footwork that worked in tandem with the blade, and breathing to complement this.    This past month was spent practicing using the winds in small bursts and I will demonstrate to Eddie the fruit of my labor.  "Blade of the Four Winds: Zephyr, the gentle breeze" began with the first step, A quick forward lunge that immediately closes the distance with the enemy, then proceeded with 5 rapid sword strikes, and then repeated once more.     Normally I wouldn't be able to close the distance between me and Eddie, however I had the winds to guide me.     The initial first step is aided by a burst of wind to propel me forward, the sword strikes I use, were all aided by the wind as well.  The technique allowed me to constantly shift where I needed the wind to propel me, increasing my movement speed, my sword speed, and how strong I could swing.  In terms of speed, I was on par with Eddie's second form of Stockpile.     I began forcing Eddie to go on the defensive.    I knew that just going head up and attacking him from the front would get me nowhere, so as I did my downward s***h, I gave Eddie a roundhouse kick propelled by the winds which caught him off guard.      I used this moment to gather the wind around my feet as I jump, the wind propelled my higher.  I did a front flip in mid air and when I landed I again used  "Blade of the Four Winds: Zephyr, the gentle breeze" .     "Now we're getting somewhere!" Eddie screamed.      Because Eddie received a lot of hits from me he was glowing gold from the places I hit him. Eddie began to emit steam as golden glow began to pool around his fists and forearms.     "Stockpile Second form: Golden Fists", Eddie said as he began to launch a barrage of fists faster and definitely way stronger than the last.  Fortunately for me  "Blade of the Four Winds: Zephyr, the gentle breeze" was not only a offensive technique.      Once I use it defensively it becomes the Pirouette of Spring.      The winds made my feet nimble, light on the ground as I constantly shifted. I used the winds to help quicken my movement in dodging and blocking Eddie's barrage of fists, whenever I fist got to close to my body I used a gust of wind to put deflect them.     Soon enough, Eddie's fists gradually began to stop glowing. By the time he was done, he was emitting a lot of steam from his body.    It was now my turn to go on the offensive.     Show me more! I yell out to Eddie,    I want to go all out!     I began the initial step, but instead of launching myself forward I launched myself upward because I saw Eddie brace himself.     While in midair I launched another new move I cooked up, Cutting Winds. Unlike the s***h of Wind where I send a large Wind Blade after a sword s***h, Cutting Winds is an attack that comes from my 5 rapid sword strikes from  "Blade of the Four Winds: Zephyr, the gentle breeze".     Smaller blades of winds are released from each of the five sword strikes.  As I did this mid air, I began to use the wind to aid me as I landed. While Eddie was preoccupied with Cutting Winds,     I once again began to use  "Blade of the Four Winds: Zephyr, the gentle breeze".  But this time I used a lot more magic to have the winds propel me forward.  This caught Eddie off guard as each of my strikes landed.  As I was about to begin my first step again, I suddenly ate a right hook from Eddie.     Still enough left in the tank?, Eddie asked.  He was right though, my constant application of the gusts of winds has been taking a toll on me already but I knew I could still keep going. "    "Stockpile First form: Swift Release", As I heard this I knew what was coming.     From what I've gathered and from what Eddie has told me, the first for of stockpile pretty much converts all of his accumulated hits into speed, much like how I use  "Blade of the Four Winds: Zephyr, the gentle breeze".     While the second form of Stockpile is a combination of both speed and strength, in second form he isn't as fast as he is if he were in first form but the trade off for that is harder hitting punches and kicks.  Golden fists isn't Eddie's only move when he is in second form. And from what Eddie has told me third and onwards are forms that gradually trade off speed in exchange for stronger attacks.     As Eddie began to match my pace with his first form.  I began to use different  variations of the 5 rapid sword strikes I use, I tried some in mid air, I began doing others as I counterattack, or a continuation to my parry.     I knew that Stockpile's first form wasn't something that consumed a lot of his accumulated power. Even though Eddie was matching my pace some of my hits were slipping through.     This went on for quite a bit and I was still confused with what Eddie was trying to do.     Congrats kid! You came here to fight me to witness my second form and yet here I am about to use third!    Eddie shouted. "Stockpile Third form: Achilles",  Eddie's body to glow gold, instead of it only coming from the places he was hit Eddie was literally covered in gold. And thus we resumed fighting.     A few minutes went by and I was struggling badly, my "Blade of the Four Winds: Zephyr, the gentle breeze" could only do so much as to keep me alive.  Despite not moving fast, Eddie's punches were extremely quick and I knew that if one were to hit me it would spell trouble.     I just have to waste the third form, wait for it to run out, I thought to myself.  However, I suddenly remembered that earlier in the fight Eddie was being awfully conservative with his power, he must have been waiting to gather his power.     As I was lost in thought, Eddie caught me slipping, one of his punches connected hitting me right in the abdomen. I reel from his punch as i fall to my knees. I was way to careless, in a real life situation I might as well have been dead. I began to brain storm, I had to think quick, how could I fight Eddie's third form?     Then I remember the myth of Achilles, one of the many heroes in the Illiad. He was impenetrable, an unstoppable warrior that no sword, spear, nor arrow could pierce. Eddie was already quite literally that, but if his third form is named after Achilles he must have the same weak spot!     It was now or never, if I my theory is correct and I can manage to hit him in his weak spot I could actually win!  And thus I begin charging my attack.  I focused as I began to channel the winds around my feet, I inhaled sharply and as I exhaled I lunged forward.     Piercing wind! I shouted,    I used the gust to propel me forward, instead of the normal "Blade of the Four Winds: Zephyr, the gentle breeze", this attack wasn't followed up by 5 consecutive rapid slashes.  This attack was followed with a quick yet powerful finishing blow, I use the s***h I use for Wind s***h but before I release the gust of wind from my blade, I instead use it to push my blade forward. I am at Eddie's heel as I s***h with the full force of the might of the winds.     As the dust settled, all I heard was my ragged breathing.  In every other realistic scenario that attack would have lopped off Eddie's foot off and sliced the ground as well.     But as my vision cleared I saw Eddie standing with a grin, the golden aura from his third form still present.     Close but no cigar, Eddie says.     I commend you though, you were able to figure out the nature of how third form worked!    Indeed I had only one weak spot!   However my weak spot isn't found in my heel, but nonetheless an amazing try.  You exceeded my expectations kid! that sword work is definitely ready to face off against Head Hunters goons. After a few moments, me and Eddie drank water, we were both extremely out of breath from our spar. Now let's get to the real meat and potatoes kid, let's talk about our plan moving forward.
