Back on The Road

Now that I think about it, it was also a good way to check if we had any pursuers. Since I'm sure they would try to estimate when we would arrive. If we were to take thirty minute breaks every three hours we could be there in less than a day. I don't know if the math checks out but f**k it we'll just have to assume that.     Now it's just us and the road again!    A day had passed as we spent it on the road. We would pull over whenever we could to pee or to poop. It was a pretty sad situation but we'd rather this than risk getting killed by one of Head hunter's goons. We felt like s**t. Whenever we had to stop by for gas we really had to make it quick.     From Noah's point of view    I felt like such s**t. We were experiencing some pretty bad jet lag. I was also getting pretty car sick. But I really don't want to complain because Eddie was the one driving the whole day. We would take a thirty minute break every three hours or so or wherever there wasn't a lot of people around.     Because we were taking these breaks Eddie and I never really got any proper rest, Eddie especially. But whenever I did fall asleep I just kept dreaming about my first meeting with the Head Hunter then I would wake up in a cold sweat.    It was awfully ironic since now that we were getting close to the Head Hunter, the frequency of my dreams being about our first meeting increased. Maybe it's some sort of warning or premonition? Or maybe I'm becoming delirious from being cooped up in the car for so long.    We just have to toughen it out for one last day.    We couldn't toughen it out. I mean for most of the day we were already at the end of our wits. We felt so grimy and tired and we really, really felt like s**t. We were in no shape or form prepared to infiltrate the port harbor like this.    We talked about it for a bit and we decided to just stay at a rundown motel. I think we learned our lesson. It seems that these shady looking motels only look dangerous but we were relatively same from our last check in.     We will never return to a bed and breakfast ever again.    We checked in and as soon as we entered, Eddie plopped his bag on his bed and took his vanity kit with him to the bathroom. Since he was the one driving all day I let him be the first one to take a bath so he could be the one to go to sleep first.    We still had a whole day of travelling tomorrow so Eddie's rest was our priority.  After I had my turn to take a bath and freshen up I definitely felt like a hundred bucks. Despite the bathroom being pretty shoddy, the hot shower definitely rejuvenated me.    While I sat on my bed, I looked at the clothes that we have hung up to the side. We were only able to clean our clothes now because things have been so hectic.    I wasn't really sleepy in anyway but this time I had to stay put. I learned my lesson, I'm not gonna go outside of our room and do jack s**t while Eddie was asleep. We were here to replenish our energy and get some rest. I don't want to jeopardize Eddie's sleep.    I ate some pre made sandwiches that we bought from a convenience store earlier. It was all bread. But it was cheap so I can't really complain.  I really wanted to keep my body sharp so I did a few body weight exercises again. I don't want to slack off, this was an opportunity to train so I'll take it.    After I got done working out I checked through my bags. I fixed up my things because everything got messed up while we were escaping the bed and breakfast.     I opened the bag that had my sword in it. It's been a while since I drew my sword. It's a good thing I brought factory grease and a cloth with me. So I spent the time polishing my sword.     After a bit of time has passed I packed away my stuff and I took a shower once more. The hot water definitely felt better this time since I worked out earlier. The hot water worked wonders in helping me relax.     I felt sleepy once I stepped out the bathroom.    I set the alarm to 7 in the morning and I laid on my bed.    As usual, I still dreamt of my first meeting with Head Hunter. This dude really lives in my mind rent free huh. I looked at the time and it was 6 am. It felt like I just recently closed my eyes but I guess I fell asleep for five hours.    I took our clothes that we hung up last night.  Since it was already 6 in the morning I wasn't really gonna sleep and wait for 7 am so I took the liberty of folding my clothes as well as Eddie's clothes.    I still had a whole 45 minutes of time to spare before 7 am. I wish we had an iron so I could iron our clothes but oh well.     I set Eddie's clothes at the foot of our bed. I prepared my bags again  and placed them by the cabinet near the entrance. We still had two left over sandwiches so I took one to eat for breakfast. I turned off the alarm on the alarm clock. I'll just wake up Eddie by myself later.    Once 7 am rolled around I woke Eddie up. It took a while but once he woke up he headed to the shower. He took a quick bath and ate the other sandwich while he packed his things in his bag.    "Today's the last day kid. We'll arrive at the port harbor later at night", Eddie said.    "You ready?"    "You bet!"
