Chapter Twelve
While Dad was out, Uncle Dmitri arrived looking for him. He hadn't scheduled an appointment, so Dad had no idea he was coming.
"Uncle, please have a seat first. Dad went out to lunch with Susane and Mom, but I already texted him to let him know you're here and looking for him."
We were inside Dad's office. If he waited outside by Miss Jean's and my desks, he probably wouldn't be comfortable.
He walked over to the couch and sat down. His presence filled the entire room. His presence was impossible to ignore.
It was something Magnus didn't have.
"Would you like some coffee or juice?" I asked.
"Coffee will do. Thanks."
"Excuse me."
I headed to the pantry, where Miss Jean was already preparing drinks.
