Savannah …
I couldn't wrap my head around why Cillian was in such a rush to get us married, and my dad hadn't offered a single objection. As a result, we rushed our wedding. This is incredible. It's only been a few weeks since my divorce. The preparation was so quick and now I'm getting married to my best friend.
Well, it's just an arrangement. There's no love, just a promise of friendship, but… I feel excited, yet nervous.
I'm in my wedding dress. When I married Rowan, I chose to wear a spectacular dress, but this time I chose a simple wedding dress. Fortunately, Cillian didn't object. He didn't even care about my decision. He always agreed.
I stepped out of the car, my simple silk gown flowing around me and headed to the altar. Cillian and the guests were already waiting.
"You look so beautiful, Sister." Leah, who was accompanying me, had been complimenting me nonstop since earlier.
"Really?" I sighed. “Thank you, Leah.”
This wasn't a marriage based on love, but I had to protect my child. Cillian had made a huge sacrifice for me. So, I couldn't waste that.
I walked confidently when Rowan and Suzan arrived in stunning outfits. I narrowed my eyes. Suzan was parading around in my dress, the one I’d bought with my own hard-earned money.
"Oh, Savannah. Are you going to Alpha Cillian's wedding? Who do you think you are, showing your face here?” Rowan immediately taunted me.
Leah looked ready to explode and was about to clarify, but I stopped her. How interesting. Rowan didn't know that I was the bride.
“Look at your dress, Savannah.” Even Suzan joined in mocking me. “You want to imitate the bride. You're willing to do anything to steal the spotlight. Shameless!”
"Shameless?" I laughed at Suzan's stupidity. "You don't know what you're talking about, Suzan."
"Yeah, I know exactly what I'm talking about!" Suzan stepped towards me, intimidating me. "You came here on purpose to get Rowan's attention! You have to remember that it's over between you and Rowan."
"I'm very important to this event, Suzan."
"Don't be ridiculous, Suzan! Alpha Cillian is the most powerful Alpha on this continent. There's no way he would involve you in his wedding!" Rowan denied.
"I don't need to argue with you, Rowan. It's pointless. I have to go inside now."
I rushed inside, but Suzan pulled me roughly until I fell. They laughed at me.
"Hey, you guys are really out of line!" Leah couldn't hold back anymore. "Savannah is the bride! Cillian will be so angry when he finds out you did this!"
"The bride?" Rowan teased even more. He looked at me arrogantly. "You're even willing to lie just to get attention, Savannah. You think you're going to marry Alpha Cillian? A nobody like you?"
"You don't know who Savannah is, Rowan! A jerk who's been cheating!"
Leah shoved Rowan, sending him stumbling into a floral display. This caused the guests to watch us. Rowan looked so angry. He was about to hit Leah.
"What kind of chaos is happening at my wedding!"
Cillian arrived. He was wearing a slim-fit white suit that immediately radiated his extraordinary aura. For a moment, I didn't blink, just admiring my best friend who was about to become my husband.
"Some delusional woman is claiming to be your bride, Alpha!" Suzan immediately pointed at me. "You have to get rid of her soon!"
"Claiming to be my bride?" Cillian turned to me. I smiled at him and shook my head.
"It's her?" Cillian pointed at me.
"Yes, her. Rowan's ex-wife. She's doing this on purpose to get Rowan's attention!"
And Rowan proudly puffed out his chest, showing his foolish side to Cillian.
"You have to be careful, Alpha Cillian," Rowan said.
Cillian didn't respond to Rowan. Instead, he approached me, who was still below. He knelt down and took my hand.
"Are you okay, Sav?" Cillian looked at me intently.
"What?" Suzan was shocked. She couldn't believe Cillian's act. "Alpha, you don't have to be nice to her. Be careful. She could seduce you and ruin your wedding!"
Cillian ignored Suzan and helped me up instead.
"Thank you, Cillian."
“I should help her first,” Cillian replied.
Cillian swept me away to a private lounge. Meanwhile, Rowan and Suzan stared at us with annoyance and questions.
Fortunately, one of our guests was the doctor who had been treating me all this time. He examined me thoroughly.
"Don't worry, Ma’am. Your baby is safe. You're just nervous, and that's normal."
I felt a little calmer. Cillian hugged me and rubbed my shoulder. I couldn't imagine anyone else but Cillian giving me this much attention.
"Thank you, doctor," I said.
"I can't wait for this moment, Ma'am. Alpha Cillian finally has Luna. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding."
Cillian and I looked at each other and smiled. Soon, the doctor excused herself to return to the guests.
"I'm sorry, Cillian. I messed everything up."
"Hey, hey. Don't say that. It's just a minor setback. There's still time to continue with the wedding."
I felt guilty for causing a commotion at such a crucial event. Cillian hugged me, the warm embrace of a friend who always made me feel at home.
"Everything is fine, Sav. Don't overthink it. It will affect your pregnancy."
I rested my head on Cillian's shoulder. He gave me peace and comfort.
"I don't know what I would do without you, Cillian. You shouldn't have sacrificed your life just for me and my baby."
"We are friends. I would do anything for my friend."
This moment was so sweet, but it was ruined by Rowan suddenly appearing.
"What the hell did I just hear, Savannah? Are you pregnant?”
Rowan’s gaze was sharp as lightning. Had he been following me this whole time? Alright. I have to stay calm. Whatever happens, I will protect my child from Rowan.
“It’s none of your business, Rowan. We don’t have any relationship!”
“But you’re barren, Savannah! How is that possible? We’ve only been divorced for a few weeks. How could you be pregnant? Who’s the father?”
What should I do? I don’t want Rowan to know. I don’t want him to use his selfishness to take my child away. He has no right!!
