TAMED A LION

VALENTIN'S POINT OF VIEW As I lay in bed, I couldn't shake off the feeling of restlessness. I felt like I needed to see Ava's face, to know she was okay, to apologize for my behavior. But how could I do that? We were no longer roommates, and showing up at her doorstep uninvited would be weird. As the night wore on, my desire to see her only grew stronger. I found myself thinking of ways to make it happen, no matter how crazy they seemed. And then, it hit me - her bedroom window. I had climbed in and out of it countless times before. Why not now? I knew it was a bad idea, but I couldn't help myself. I needed to see her. I threw off the covers and got out of bed, making my way to Ava's apartment. My heart raced as I approached her window, hoping she wouldn't catch me. I slowly opened the window and hoisted myself up, trying not to make a sound. As I entered her room, I saw her lying in bed, fast asleep. My heart skipped a beat as I took in her peaceful expression. I approached her bedside, feeling like a creep, but unable to help myself. I stood there for a moment, watching her sleep, wondering what I was doing with my life. My heart ached as I realized what I had lost. I had thrown away our friendship, our connection, for my own fears. I knew I had to leave, but I couldn't bring myself to move. I was stuck, frozen in regret. As I stood there, watching Ava sleep, I felt a pang of regret. I had thrown away our friendship, our connection, for my own fears. I looked around her room, taking in the familiar surroundings. Everything was just as I had left it, except now it felt different. It felt like I didn't belong here anymore. I thought about reaching out, touching her hand, but I didn't dare. I didn't want to startle her, or worse, get caught. So I just stood there, frozen in place, trying to make sense of my emotions. As I gazed at Ava, I realized I had missed her more than I thought. I missed our late-night conversations, our silly jokes, our deep talks. I missed her. And in that moment, I knew I had made a mistake. I shouldn't have left. I shouldn't have pushed her away. But now, it might be too late. AVA'S POINT OF VIEW I was fast asleep, lost in a dreamless slumber, when I suddenly noticed a shadow looming over me. At first, I thought it was just a dream, a figment of my imagination. But when the shadow came a bit nearer, I flung up from bed, my heart racing with fear. I was about to scream when a warm hand clamped over my mouth, silencing me. I struggled to free myself, but the hand held firm. And then, I saw his face. Valentin. My eyes widened in surprise as I stared up at him, my mind racing with questions. What was he doing here? How did he get in? Valentin's eyes locked onto mine, his gaze intense, his expression apologetic. He slowly removed his hand from my mouth, his fingers grazing my lips. "Ava, I'm sorry," he whispered, his voice barely audible. "I didn't mean to scare you. I just...I needed to see you." I was still trying to process what was happening, but my fear was giving way to confusion and curiosity. What did he mean? Why did he need to see me? I sat up in bed, my heart still racing, and demanded, "Valentin, what are you doing here? How did you get in?" Valentin hesitated, looking around the room nervously before answering, "I climbed through the window. I know it was stupid, but...I couldn't help myself." I was shocked, but I calmed myself, trying to process the situation. "You missed me," I stated, more as a question than a statement. Valentin nodded, his eyes locked onto mine. "Yes," he replied, his voice barely above a whisper. I was about to speak, to ask him why he missed me when I noticed something strange. His eyes...they were glowing. The color was blue, a deep, piercing blue that seemed to see right through me. I gasped, my heart skipping a beat. "Valentin, your eyes..." I trailed off, unsure of what to say. Valentin's gaze dropped, his eyelids closing as if he was ashamed. "I'm sorry," he muttered. "I didn't mean for you to see that." I was taken aback, unsure of what to make of this new development. What was happening to Valentin? Why were his eyes glowing? "Valentin, what's going on?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady. He opened his eyes, the blue glow still present, but dimmer now. "I don't know," he admitted. "I've been experiencing some...changes. I don't know what's happening to me." I felt a surge of concern, mixed with fear. What was happening to Valentin? And why did I feel drawn to him, even with these strange occurrences? I moved closer to him, my heart pounding in my chest. I reached out and placed my hands on his eyes as if I was trying to wipe away the strange glow. My fingers touched his skin, and I felt a jolt of electricity run through my body. Valentin didn't flinch, didn't pull away. He just sat there, his eyes closed, his face tilted up towards me. I gently rubbed my thumbs over his eyelids, trying to soothe away the blue glow. As I touched him, I felt a strange energy emanating from my own body, as if I was trying to absorb the strange color. Slowly but surely, the blue glow began to fade, replaced by a warm, golden light. Valentin's eyes fluttered open, and he looked up at me, his gaze filled with wonder. "Ava," he whispered, his voice full of emotion. "What are you doing to me?" I didn't know how to answer. I didn't know what I was doing, or why I was doing it. All I knew was that I felt a deep connection to Valentin, and I wanted to help him, to heal him. I kept my hands on his eyes, feeling the energy flow between us. It was as if I was channeling something, something ancient and powerful. And then, in an instant, it was gone. The energy dissipated, and I was left feeling drained but exhilarated. Valentin looked up at me, his eyes back to normal. "Ava," he said again, his voice filled with awe. "You have no idea what you just did, do you?" "You just tamed a hungry lion, Ava," Valentin said, his voice filled with wonder. I was taken aback, unsure of what he meant. "What are you talking about?" I asked, feeling a bit confused. But before I could get an answer, Valentin's arms wrapped around me, pulling me into a warm hug. I was surprised by the sudden gesture, but I didn't resist. As I hugged him back, I noticed that his body felt cold to the touch, like ice. I shivered, despite the warmth of the hug. "Ava, you have no idea what you're capable of," Valentin whispered into my ear, his breath sending shivers down my spine. I tried to pull back, to ask him what he meant, but he held me tight. "Just trust me," he said, his voice low and mysterious. "You're special, Ava. More special than you can imagine." As he held me, I felt a strange energy building up inside me. It was as if my body was responding to his touch, to his words. And then, just as suddenly as it had begun, the hug was over. Valentin released me, and I stumbled back, feeling a bit dazed. "What's going on, Valentin?" I demanded, trying to process what had just happened. But he just smiled, a cryptic smile that left me with more questions than answers.
