The room was silent.
Merson, Schizzel, and Kaiden sat facing Mirabel Foster while Mr. William stood quietly near the window.
Mirabel took a deep breath.
“Well…” she said slowly, “there are many things my husband and I did.”
Her expression became heavy.
“But it was never for ourselves.”
She looked directly at them.
“It was for the safety of the world.”
Schizzel leaned forward immediately.
“Then explain from the top, ma.”
Her eyes narrowed.
“And explain how you became the one that sent T.L to Star Haven Orphanage.”
Mirabel looked at her quietly.
Merson nodded slowly.
“That’s right.”
He folded his arms.
“We know already. We got it from the database.”
Mirabel looked down for a moment.
Then finally—
“I am not T.L’s mother.”
The room became still.
Mirabel continued quietly.
“I am her aunt.”
Kaiden frowned slightly.
“She’s my niece,” Mirabel said softly.
Schizzel blinked.
“You’re related to her?”
Mirabel nodded slowly.
“I took her away from her mother.”
Merson’s eyes narrowed immediately.
“Why?”
Mirabel’s face darkened.
“Because her mother became evil.”
Silence.
“And she was going to use Total for something terrible.”
The name hung heavily in the room.
Mirabel continued.
“Knowing how powerful the child was going to become…”
Her voice softened slightly.
“…I had to steal her away.”
Kaiden suddenly raised his hand slightly.
“Um… excuse me…”
Everybody looked at him.
“What sister are you talking about exactly?”
Schizzel nodded quickly.
“Yeah. You have a sister?”
Mirabel stayed silent for a moment.
Then she slowly turned toward Mr. William.
William sighed heavily before giving a small nod.
Like he was finally permitting the secret to leave the room.
Mirabel turned back toward them.
Then quietly said—
“Scarlet Fox.”
BOOM.
The name hit the room like an explosion.
Merson froze instantly.
Kaiden’s eyes widened.
Schizzel slowly stood up from her seat.
“What?!” all three shouted together.
Merson stared at Mirabel in disbelief.
“Unbelievable…”
He shook his head slowly.
“Scarlet Fox… is your sister?”
Mirabel nodded once.
“Yes.”
Then quietly added—
“Younger sister actually.”
Kaiden grabbed his own head dramatically.
“My head wants to burst.”
He began pacing.
“The Scarlet Fox? The one with those creatures? The tyrant?”
He pointed at Mirabel repeatedly.
“That Scarlet Fox is your sister?!”
He held his chest.
“I think I’m going to have a heart attack.”
Even Schizzel looked shaken.
Then suddenly—
“Wait.”
Everybody looked at her.
Schizzel stared hard at Mirabel.
“If you are Scarlet Fox’s sister…”
She swallowed slowly.
“And you said T.L is your niece…”
Her eyes widened.
“Does that mean—”
“Yes,” Mr. William answered quietly.
The room froze again.
“Total is Scarlet Fox’s daughter.”
Silence.
Pure silence.
Merson slowly sat back down like his legs suddenly became weak.
Kaiden looked completely speechless.
Schizzel covered her mouth slightly.
Scarlet Fox.
Total Fox.
Everything suddenly started connecting.
Mirabel spoke softly.
“The proper way to say her name is Total Fox.”
She looked down sadly.
“That is her real name.”
“And her mother…”
Mirabel looked directly at them.
“…is Scarlet Fox.”
Kaiden paced around the room in panic.
“No no no no…”
He pointed around wildly.
“This mystery girl we’ve been protecting…”
He looked at Merson.
“…is Scarlet Fox’s DAUGHTER?!”
Merson still looked stunned.
“Scarlet Fox…”
He muttered slowly.
“…Total Fox…”
Schizzel suddenly remembered something.
“No wonder…”
Everyone looked at her.
“The first day T.L came…”
Schizzel frowned deeply.
“She looked familiar.”
Her eyes widened slightly.
“She looked like Scarlet Fox.”
Mirabel nodded slowly.
“Especially the orange hair,” Schizzel added quietly.
Mirabel sat back down heavily.
“The day Scarlet was taken from you all during the battle…”
The room became serious again.
“She was taken away with the Beast.”
Kaiden frowned.
“The Beast?”
Mirabel nodded.
“The Beast slept with her.”
Silence filled the room uncomfortably.
“And she became pregnant with Total.”
Merson slowly looked away.
Mirabel continued quietly.
“The Beast transferred his powers into Scarlet.”
Her eyes darkened.
“And Scarlet eventually killed him.”
William folded his arms tightly.
“The evil inside her consumed everything.”
Mirabel nodded sadly.
“And her child…”
She paused.
“…was going to become her weapon against the world.”
Merson’s expression hardened.
“The one nobody could stop.”
“Yes,” Mirabel answered.
“So William and I made a decision.”
She looked at them carefully.
“I teleported there and stole the child when she was five years old.”
Schizzel’s eyes widened.
“You actually took her?”
Mirabel nodded.
“I raised her myself for two years.”
Then her expression became guilty.
“And then…”
She looked down.
“…I erased her memories.”
Kaiden immediately reacted.
“You did WHAT?!”
Mirabel looked hurt by the reaction.
“I know.”
She shook her head slowly.
“But I had to.”
Her voice became emotional.
“I wiped away her memories of her mother…”
Then quietly—
“…and me.”
Silence filled the room again.
Mirabel wiped her eyes slightly before continuing.
“After that, I dropped her at Star Haven Orphanage.”
Merson looked confused.
“Why there?”
Mirabel looked directly at him.
“Because she was never supposed to leave.”
Kaiden frowned deeply.
“What does that mean?”
Mirabel leaned forward slowly.
“There are seven books.”
Immediately Merson and Schizzel exchanged looks.
“According to prophecy,” Mirabel continued, “I managed to seal Total away from the books while she stayed at the orphanage.”
Her eyes darkened.
“But anywhere else…”
She paused heavily.
“…the books will go to her.”
Kaiden looked disturbed.
“What kind of books?”
Mirabel answered softly.
“LATOT.”
Merson immediately froze.
Mirabel continued.
“First Division to Seventh Division.”
The room became tense again.
“The more she touches those books…”
Mirabel’s voice lowered.
“…the more the power already inside her activates.”
She looked directly at them.
“It’s like an activation ring.”
Merson slowly looked at Schizzel.
Then back at Mirabel.
“Well…”
He scratched his head awkwardly.
“That’s actually what we wanted to talk about.”
Mirabel frowned immediately.
“What?”
Merson sighed nervously.
“So…”
He looked away briefly.
“We might have brought T.L into Heroes Academy.”
Mirabel’s eyes widened instantly.
“And she might have touched one of the books.”
Silence.
Merson cleared his throat awkwardly.
“And um…”
He looked embarrassed now.
“I made some… silly mistakes…”
Schizzel slowly looked away.
“…that made T.L leave the school.”
Mirabel stood up immediately in panic.
“What?!”
Her voice echoed through the room.
“Total is gone?!”
She stared at them in disbelief.
“Where is she now?!”
Merson shook his head slowly.
“We don’t know.”
Mirabel panicked harder.
“Can you track her?!”
Kaiden rubbed the back of his neck nervously.
“Well…”
“We also made the mistake of letting her join the technical department.”
Mirabel blinked.
“She’s really good,” Kaiden added quietly.
Mirabel slowly sat back down again, overwhelmed.
Then she spoke quietly.
“Only Totals can find Total.”
The room became silent again.
Mirabel looked at them carefully.
“I’m a Quad Total.”
She pointed lightly at herself.
“The same as my sister.”
Then she paused.
“And my brother.”
Kaiden looked exhausted already.
“You have a brother too?!”
Mirabel nodded.
“Yes.”
“He has two children.”
She paused.
“Teenagers.”
“A boy and a girl.”
Merson immediately remembered Scarlet’s companions.
Mirabel continued—
“They’re Half Totals.”
Schizzel stared at her.
“Half Totals?”
She shook her head slowly.
“All these mini totals… quad totals… half totals… full totals…”
She looked overwhelmed.
“I thought they were rare.”
Mirabel answered quietly.
“They are.”
Then she stood up slowly.
“I can locate Total with my Quad Total abilities.”
Immediately—
BRRRRRRR!
Merson’s phone rang loudly.
Everyone looked at him.
Merson picked up immediately.
“Hello? Who is this?”
“Dad!”
It was Derek.
His voice sounded panicked.
“You need to come to the school now!”
Merson immediately stood up.
“What happened?”
Schizzel looked sharply toward him.
Mirabel watched nervously too.
Derek’s shaky voice continued through the phone.
“People are dead…”
Merson’s expression changed instantly.
“What?”
“They’re lying everywhere on the floor…”
“What happened?!” Merson shouted.
“A lady came here and collected a book,” Derek said quickly.
“She had creatures… like aliens with her.”
“She destroyed the forcefield.”
Merson froze completely.
“But good thing Clarence copied everything from the book into our system.”
Derek’s breathing became shaky.
“Dad… please come.”
“We don’t know what to do.”
Merson slowly lowered the phone slightly.
One word escaped his mouth quietly.
“…Scarlet.”
“Dad?” Derek asked from the phone. “What did you say?”
Merson quickly snapped back.
“Stay there. We’re coming.”
He ended the call immediately.
Schizzel stepped forward.
“What happened?”
Merson looked around at all of them.
“It’s Scarlet.”
The room became tense instantly.
“She attacked the school.”
Mirabel’s face darkened immediately.
“She broke down the barrier,” Merson continued.
“She released creatures.”
His jaw tightened.
“They ate our people.”
Kaiden looked horrified.
“And she collected…”
Merson frowned slightly.
“…a book.”
Mirabel immediately answered.
“Not just any book.”
Everyone looked at her.
“It’s called LATOT.”
Her eyes darkened heavily.
“First Division to Seventh Division.”
Realization hit the room.
“She’s going after the rest,” Mirabel whispered.
Silence.
Then she looked directly at Merson.
“And if any of them disappear and meet Total…”
Her expression became deadly serious.
“…Scarlet will know where her daughter is.”
Kaiden swallowed hard.
“I don’t like that.”
Merson immediately grabbed his coat.
“Let’s go to the school.”
Mirabel stepped forward instantly.
“I’m coming with you.”
William nodded firmly.
“So am I.”
Without wasting another second, all of them rushed out of the mansion—
Heading straight for the technical department of Heroes Academy.
