Chapter Three

*Four years later*

Ashley's P. O. V.

"Dad are we almost done with training? I'm taking Alexandria on a date tonight. I don't want to be late." I told him.

"Yes we are almost done. All we have to do is check the territory border lines that's it." He said.

"Good let's go." I said then I ran for the woods and shifted into my pure white wolf. I'm a little faster than my dad now. But I've trained so much over the past four years. Not for no reason either. I learned that people don't really like Alexandria and I started working out and training and perfecting my fighting so I can protect her with ease.

Every Now and then someone will disrespect her and I'll handle it for her since she hasn't shifted yet, but once she shifts I'll be the one training her since I'm the strongest in the pack.

The border check went by really quick. We had no trouble. Thank the lord. I've been planning a perfect date for me and her for a while now. I can't be late.

I ran inside the pack house and into mine and Alexandria's room. She wasn't in there. Good. Now I can get ready without her seeing me. I quickly go into our bathroom so I could take a shower.

I got out in record time. I blow dry my hair then I run a flat iron through it. After my hair I did my makeup. I don't really put a lot of makeup on. Just eyeliner and mascara.

I then go to our closet and and get my regular style clothes. I wear blue skinny jeans with tears in them, and a black tank top, with my black high tops. I look in my mirror and think I look perfectly fine. Knowing Alexandria would be wearing a dress, I wear stuff like this.

I then check my phone and its 7:45pm. Just enough time to find Alexandria and for pictures since my mom is crazy for pictures.

I walk out our room and smell around for her scent. I walked down stairs and looked in the kitchen. She wasn't there. I knew she was still in the house, so I just waited at the bottom of the stairs.

"Oh sweetie. You look beautiful." My mom said. "Oh my goddess. Today is the day you and Alexandria go on a date. Give me a second to go get my camera." Then she ran off to her room. Sometimes my mom acts like she a teenager. It's not always a bad thing but it's still hard to control her. She ran back in shortly after. "Okay I got it. " She said. Then I smelt roses and candy. Shortly after my beautiful mate appeared at the top of the stairs. She was wearing a blue dress that reached her mid thigh. Her hair was up in a ponytail, and her hair was curled. She had some hair on the sides of her face for a frame like thing. She had light eyeshadow on, along with eyeliner and mascara. She had a little bit of blush on and a light shade of pink lip gloss on her lips. She then gave me her breathtaking smile that makes my heart skip a beat every time. She walked down stairs and as she got to the bottom of the stairs she fell because of the heels she had on but thankfully I was able to catch her. She looked at me and smiled again. I picked her up and set her on the ground.

"Thank you." She said.

"Any day babe."I said.

"Okay you two now get together so I can get some pictures."Said my mom.

"Mom just take like two or three. You have like over a hundred pictures of us together." I said.

"Well then I'll just have more to add to the collection." She said.

So I put my arm around Alex's shoulder, since she is shorter than me, and smile so my mom can take the pictures.

After 5 minutes of pictures we were finally able to go. It's crazy how happy my mom is for me and my mate.

I lead her to my convertible and opened the door for her. She just smiled at me again. My lord if she doesn't stop smiling so much then my heart is going to stop.

I went around and got in the drivers side. I turned on the engine and backed out the driveway.

"So where are we going?" Asked Alexandria.

"That's a surprise beautiful. You'll just have to wait and see." I said.

"A surprise. You know I don't like surprises." She said while giving me a stern look.

"You'll like this one beautiful."

A few minutes later we came to our destination. It's a restaurant on the beach.

I look at my beautiful mate and she is looking out the front windshield at the restaurant. It just so happens to be candle lighted too. I get out the car and go to her door and open it. I grab her hand and help her out. I can tell she is just getting used to the whole high heels thing. She's normally 5'4. With her heels she's now 5'6. But I'm still taller. I'm 5'9 which if I was to wear heels then I would be around 6'1. Even then my height will increase once I take the role of Alpha.

"Oh my gosh, Ashley. Its beautiful." She said. She was still looking at the restaurant.

"Come on beautiful. Its better on the inside." I say as I lead her inside. We reach the front desk, and the lady smiles at us. "Knight. Table for two." I said. The lady nodded and checked her book.

"Yes Knight. Table for two, right this way. Follow me please."She said and then she turned around and followed her. She brought us to our table and and smiled at us as we took our seats. "Here are your menus. Your waiter will be here shortly. If you need anything please feel free to ask me. I'll just be over there."She said and the whole time she was looking at my mate. I could tell this woman was a shifter. And of lower ranking, so I let out a low, deep growl. She turned to me with fear in her eyes. I growled again and she submitted to me. I smirked. "Now leave."I said. She nodded and quickly left. Then my mate chuckled. "What's so funny."I asked.

"The reaction people have when you growl at them." She said.

"Well I have to growl at them. Otherwise they'll think it's fine to flirt with you when it's not. Your mine and you always will be." I said while giving her a playful growl. She just smiled and blushed. Then our waiter came. We ordered our food and he left.

"So beautiful, are you excited for your birthday coming up?" I asked.

"Yeah. I really am. I get to shift for the first time. I get to feel the sparks you feel when we touch each other. I get to be closer to you. I just can't wait." She said with a sigh.

"Beautiful, it won't be easy. Having to keep your wolf under control all the time. You will feel the bond and be more, sexually, pulled towards me. It's not easy beautiful, I can tell you that much." I said. Then she grabbed my hand.

"Babe I know it's going to be tough, but if you can do it then I can do it. Everything will be fine. Plus we don't have to worry about that now. My birthday is three days away, but we are together right now. That's all that matters. We are on a date. Together. Okay. We'll get through it." She says. You see this is why I love my mate. She knows exactly what to say.

Then our food came out and we talked while we were eating. There was one point I laughed so much I nearly choked on my food. Which left to more laughing from us.

When Alexandria and I were done eating we stood up to leave. She started heading towards the front door when I grabbed her arm. She turned and looked at me with confusion.

"Come on beautiful. We're going this way."I said as I pulled her out the back door.

"Babe what are you doing? We still haven't paid yet."She said.

"Actually I payed when we got our food. I slipped in the money."I said.

"Really? You managed to pay for the food without me knowing. Wow, I'm impressed."

"Good, cause I live to impress you." I said while giving her a kiss on the cheek.

Alexandria's P. O. V.

Then she kissed me on the cheek. Why won't she ever kiss me on the lips. We've been together for 4 years now. Is she waiting till I shift? Or is she waiting for me to ask for it? I've been wanting her to kiss me on the lips for a while now but she won't.

"What are you thinking about?"She asks me.

"Nothing, where are we going?" I asked as I shook my head.

"Just over here beautiful." She said. We were walking hand in hand until we got to the beach. I leaned over to take off my heels but Ashley picked me up bridal style. She then starts walking on the sand. She walks over to a place where a blanket is. It's by the water but it's not close enough to get wet. She sets me on the blanket and sits down and I sit down by her.

"Babe what are we doing here? " I ask.

"This is the place me and my brother use to come to before he passed." she told me as she looked off into the distance.

"Babe you didn't have to bring me here. This is yours and your brother's place." I said.

"No it's fine. Me and my brother were close. We loved each other like a brother and sister should. When he passed I came here all the time. All I remember was the love we shared but our love is stronger Alex, and now I'm older. I have my love that I always wanted. I found that with you Alex. So this is our place now. Our place. Okay."She said that and then laid down on the blanket. That was beautiful. She has no idea how I feel about her. She doesn't understand that it's not only hard for her but it's hard for me too. I know I don't have my wolf so it's a little easier for me but I still love her. This is it I'm going to ask her.

"Um, Ashley?"

"Yes beautiful. " She said while sitting up.

"Um, w-will you mark me?"I asked.
