I want to argue, but I see the determination in his eyes. It helps that James is right. My father is the reason he's in this mess, and he has a right to know. I don't like it, but I understand it. Paige and I hop into the back while Alex drives. The grueling drive is silent and tense. I rub circles on the back of Paige's hand. I don't know if it's to calm her or me, but it's not working. We are both so tense that it's overloading the mate bond. By the time we reach the border, it feels as if we've been driving for twelve hours. I'm out of the car before Alex parks. Paige and James follow right after me. A part of me wants to hold Paige back. We have no idea what we're walking into here.
"Um, I'm not sure this is something the Luna should see," Harrison says.
