Thalia "You handled that really well," Isolde murmurs, her fingers curling around mine. I give a quiet hum, not trusting myself to agree. It hadn't gone the way I'd hoped. Everything had escalated too quickly, and I'd barely managed to keep things from getting worse. I don't regret stepping in. I just wish I'd been able to make them see reason. But this was never really about me. It was about that little girl. Someone like her shouldn’t be anywhere near children, much less in a position of authority over them.
