Thalia "We're not even close to done." I couldn't get those words out of my head, and for a moment, I couldn't breathe. The room was quiet except for the low hum coming from the screen. I tried to steady my breathing. It didn't help. I knew what was coming before the next recording even started. Another piece of the past I didn’t want to see. When the image finally appeared, my stomach turned. At first, I thought it might be different. There were no bodies in the street, no blood on the ground, and for a moment I almost let myself believe it was. Then that feeling disappeared. A crowded street filled the screen. Thin, worn faces stared ahead with a mixture of fear and exhaustion. Guards stood around them with weapons at their sides, making it clear that nobody was free to leave.
