Warning!!! This chapter contains Triggers!!!! Don't Read If You Can't!!!! The words made the room cold. The words were final, and there was no question about it. The Alpha walked to the door. He didn’t look back. His thoughts were already shifting to things that mattered more—his new land, his next move. Issa stood there stunned, not shaky but startled. The way he had just sniffed her scent into himself, probably forcing his memory to remember where he had perceived her, made her shudder in fear. As she had silently prayed her never remembered. And then he choosed her. again. Bringing back memories of that night. The three women where taken out and Issa was left behind. A woman appeared in the doorway, red hair, petite and pale skin. Her face twisted into a mean smile that promised nothing good. "Oh…swine," the woman said coldly, her eyes locking onto Issa. Her voice dripped with hate. "I heard the Alpha picked you. Surprising… this time he picked all humans. I didn’t think he’d waste his time on some plain human." She stepped into the room, looking Issa up and down. "Get up. He’s waiting." Issa’s heart pounded. He’s waiting. The words felt like a death sentence. The woman grabbed Issa’s arm hard and yanked her forward. As they walked through the cold and echoing halls, the woman leaned in close and whispered, "Listen to me darling, I don't want you going around thinking you are special. You’re just another toy for Val." Issa’s breath caught in her throat. Val. So that was his name. The blue-eyed Alpha. The conqueror. The father of her children. His name was Val all along. "He uses and then tosses aside like he never used," the woman went on, her voice low and cruel. "You’ll see. He always gets bored. He’ll break you. Everyone breaks." She shoved Issa forward toward a huge, fancy door at the end of the hall. "This is his personal room. Don’t mess up, or you’ll wish you were dead." With a final push, she forced her inside and slammed the door shut behind her. The heavy sound of it closing felt like the end of everything. Issa stepped into the room. It was huge, fancy and all but it felt cold and heavy. Thick fur rugs covered the stone floor, and a giant fireplace. The whole place smelled strongly like Val. His scent was everywhere, it was so strong that it almost made Issa feel like she couldn’t breathe. In the middle of the room stood a giant bed, covered in fur blankets. It seemed to take up most of the space. Issa stood frozen; she was too scared to move. She was completely alone now, her eyes drifting back to the bed. For the first time in years, since her life had turned into a nightmare, she let herself imagine what it might feel like to lie down and actually rest. In a proper bed. Slowly not sure what else to do, she walked to the bed. Her silk robe made a soft sound as she moved. She lay down, and the softness of the fur blanket felt strange but comforting against her sore body. That was the first time in five years since her body had again tasted the luxury of a soft proper bed. Her eyes blurred, glassy as could be, tears came flowing down. Then they just kept coming, falling down her face. Just one day and her life turned into an unimaginable nightmare. She shut her eyes streams of salty liquid trickled down effortlessly until she finally fell asleep. Issa was in a deep sleep, but it wasn't peaceful. It was the kind of sleep where you feel restless and empty. Suddenly, a large, rough hand grabbed her hip, yanking her half onto her stomach. Her eyes snapped open, a silent scream caught in her throat. The room was dark, with only a tiny bit of light coming from the dying ember of a fire. And then she saw him. Val. He was a dark shape, he was even darker than the night outside, his huge body blocking the little light that was left. But his blue eyes glowed faintly, standing out in the darkness. Every part of her wanted to run. But she knew better. Running was a suicide mission. She gasped, a desperate, shaky breath caught in her chest. His hand felt heavy on her, as he gripped her possessively digging his finger on her skin. He didn’t say anything—no warning. Just that firm, strong touch that made her heart pound in her ears frantically. “Please…” she whispered, the word escaping her without her meaning to, a small, pathetic plea. She tried to push herself up on her elbows, but it was a wasted effort she knew that she couldn't get away. And at that moment that she had moved, his iron grip tightened, holding her down easily. The silence between them felt sharp and dangerous. Then, his voice rumbled low, a sound that makes the hairs in her body to vibrate. “What’s your name again?” Her mouth opened as her body trembled slightly, she forced herself to say her name. “Issa…” For that terrifying moment, she had stupidly thought that maybe saying her name would have bought her a tiny bit of mercy. But instead it earned her a sharp, brutal slap. His palm hit the side of her face so hard that her head snapped sideways, the force echoing through her skull. The sickening sound of skin hitting cheek bone was loud in the quiet room. Her lip slammed on her teeth, causing it to tear open. A burning pain washed her lips. Warm, metallic-tasting blood immediately filled her mouth. Her vision blurred, hot tears stinging her eyes. This wasn't the man she had known. This was a monster. It wasn't the alpha she had spent that night with. Whose hands touched her delicately even if she was regarded as filth. A small, pathetic whimper caught in her throat. “keep. Your mouth. Shut.,” Val commanded, his voice like ice, a chilling promise.
