The sky was a beautiful shade of golden dusk that was gradually lowering over the horizon and spreading a calm orange glow over the land below. A light silence descended as all the sounds of the day gradually subsided to the tranquil song of the crickets as the chilly night air began to cool off the warm wind of the day. The peaceful stillness of night engulfed the land from coast to coast, ushering in a tranquil evening with one more sight of the sun before its final bow.
“Are you two dating?” I smiled at him and tried to joke to hide my fear and nervousness, “I do not want to make trouble because, as you know, I still have to beat you in a one-on-one, so I do not want to come in between.”
