I believe that appreciating anime is still on the periphery, and that individuals of older generations and some women have this 'cartoons are for kids' mentality. Some individuals may mix up anime with hentai. You see, if you do not know, hhentai anime is distinguished by forthrightly sexualized characters, as well as sexually explicit pictures, designs, subject matters and themes. But it is not about those that I like, it is far more than the boobs and overtly sexualized women in anime for that genre.
