Chapter 7: A Terrible Escape Part 3

Chapter 7 Caramella managed to get on the ship on the left. Although she has no invitation, she climbed on the side of the ship with Oliver by sneaking under the port. It's very shameful to admit that she climbed the ship like a gorilla but she did, making dents on the ship’s side as she grabbed onto the metal. But even though she looked like a gorilla, she did manage to get inside with Oliver and that’s all that matters. “Mommy, look! They have a swimming pool in the ship, that’s funny” Oliver giggled as he ran around the deck where other guests were. No one is using the pool since it's a formal party, but it is wide open and ready for accidents to happen. Caramella can almost see someone being pushed accidentally and someone being sued for ruining their evening gowns. “Ah, this place reminds me of drama telenovelas” she sighed, already exhausted just by standing next to the rich people who are either flattering each other, talking about assets and business or talking about what they own. She found the party boring. Currently, she is wearing a glittery black floor sweeping dress that enhances her bosoms and hips. Thankfully, she has jewelry in her emergency bags and the silver moon necklace, bracelet and large ring earrings matched the dress. Oliver on the other hand has a cute sailor outfit. “It does doesn’t it” The husky voice from her side scared the crap out of her, jolting in reality from her daze. She turned her head and saw a male Alpha with light blonde hair, emerald green eyes and a tall, large figure. Carmella thought that she saw him somewhere but it was her first time seeing someone like him. He wore black colored suit with a white shirt and green tie that matched his eyes, he looked very dashing and handsome. “...May I help you?” Caramella is a woman who was used to Alphas courting her, but this Alpha has a Mate already, making her more cautious. She doesn’t want to start drama if his Omega suddenly turns up while he was talking with her. The Alpha smiled brightly, showing a row of white teeth, “Actually, yes. May I spend the night talking to you?” he gestured towards the party, “This party is dead to me and I don’t want to hit the sack yet, I still have a sunrise to witness” Caramella tapped her finger on the railing of the ship that she is leaning onto, ‘This Alpha is weird’ she thought, ‘But I don’t feel any hostility from him, I guess it's not that bad to relax for a while’ “Sure” she shrugged, “But I hope you don’t mind me also taking care of my son” The curious Alpha followed her finger as she pointed at Oliver who managed to find playmates, playing games on a large tablet where the children shared together. “Oh. I would have never guessed that you have a son. You are so young and…well…no offense but I can sense you don’t have a mate yet” The Alpha shrugged before snagging a drink on the passing waiter, “Hard isn’t it” Caramella sighed, also snagging one of the drinks in a wine glass, “Of course it's hard, being an Omega is no joke. To the older generation, they treat us like a breeding machine. Ew” she scrunched her nose as she downed the wine in one go. “Thankfully, the older generation is dying out. And for that, cheers” The Alpha raised his still full glass. Caramella chuckled, “I already finished my drink but here goes. Cheers” and their glasses clinked gently. “I am Victor by the way. And as you can tell, a healthy Alpha married to the most lovely Omega” The Alpha bowed. Caramella raised a brow for a moment, ‘He only introduced his first name despite being so friendly…how suspicious. Or is just cautious in sharing his name?’ “...Candy, just call me Candy since that’s what my friends call me” Caramella bowed back. That’s when she realized something. ‘Wait, bowing is not the normal way of greeting each other…’ she thought, rising up to look at Victor who only has an innocent smile on his tired looking face. Honestly, smiling doesn’t suit him. “You are a Lycan” She pointed out. Victor nodded, “Yes. It's not surprising really, there are a couple of Lycans in this ship” he shrugged. “Right” Caramella said, ‘I thought he’s a human Alpha turned out he’s a Lycan too’ They talked for a while, for maybe an hour. Caramella thinks that Victor is quite a pleasant man to talk to. He is respectful and knows not to cross boundaries, the topics he talks about are also very interesting. As much as she finds him suspicious, Caramella thinks that he’s a fun guy to be around with. “You were right about that, Lycans are usually wolf babies and not human babies. That slipped off my mind because I gave birth to my son while in my human form” Caramella chuckled, “I forgot Lycans need to be in their natural wolf form to give birth” Victor was shocked, “How did you manage to give birth to your son in your human form? Isn’t it hard to control your transformation?” Caramella shook her head, “Well, it is hard but you know, I have to do what I have to do as a mother. Even if its painful” “...I just talked to you for an hour but I just found out that you are one crazy Lycan” Victor shook his head, his arms crossed. “Ahem!” The two were suddenly cut off by a rude clearing of the throat. Making them turn their heads in the direction of the cough. Caramella gasped, “D-Darius” she stuttered, genuinely surprised to see the Alpha that is supposed to be her mate. “Mommy, mommy! Daddy found me!” The giggling Oliver is also with him, holding his hand. She almost dropped her glass of wine at the sight of the Alpha in front of her. As handsome as Darius is when they first met and when he wooed her, this is the first time he looks more business professional president of a company style. His hair that is slick and swept upwards was even more neat than before, fully showing his forehead and moon like gray eyes that are staring right through her. His clothes that are usually full black suits like a goddamn mafia, are now changed into a plain thin black turtleneck tucked into a dark gray colored suit trouser pants and to top it all off is a long dark gray blazer rolled up just beneath his elbows. If she is by herself right now, Caramella would be drooling at how hot Darius looks like. “Oh, I didn’t know you had…someone” Victor said awkwardly, totally not expecting the new Dominant Alpha to arrive. Darius stepped between them, pushing Caramella to the side and sticking to her before looking at Victor with hidden malice in his pheromones. “Yes, she has someone. Thank you for keeping her company” Darius smiled bitterly at Victor. Caramella shook her head, “Hey, Victor is with me, you’re the one who should leave. You just butted in” she tried to shove Darius away from her side but she failed, he’s too heavy. “…I’m not going to leave” Darius faced Caramella who looks exasperated at him. “You’re really stubborn aren’t you” she crossed her arms. “Not stubborn, but determined” He crossed his arms back at her, obviously not wanting to go anywhere but there. Caramella tilted her head, “You’re not even my mate” she pointed out. Darius mimicked her, also tilting his head, “But I am Oliver’s father” he argued. “...We’re not sure about that” Caramella huffed, “Maybe you’re just a fake who is trying to win me over or something” Darius smirked before leaning towards her, almost kissing her cheek. She can feel his breath on her neck and his scent of refreshing cedar wood in an early spring. “Maybe I am winning you over. Maybe…” he released some comforting pheromones, his half lidded eyes looking down at her as if he was love struck, “...I am flirting with you right now, Ms. Candy” Caramella blushed intensely before moving away from Darius’ sexy voice and attitude. “No way” She looked away, preventing eye contact from both of them and Darius continued to try and flirt with her mildly, teasing her with compliments. Victor who was watching the whole ordeal was honestly intrigued. ‘My dear Deserie said that Carmilla is a strong Omega Lycan that is on par with her…looking at this girl’s blushing face reminds me of my easily embarrassed wife. I guess they really are aunt and niece’ Victor thought, smiling slightly. He turned around to leave, ‘There is no reason to bring her back now. My guts tell me that she’s going to come back to her pack when they need her the most…’ With that, he bid Oliver goodbye who was just looking at him innocently with large eyes. “Tell your mom and dad to make up, yes?” he said, bending down to pat the three years old boy on the head, “I have a report to make” He looked at the two lovebirds who are too busy talking to each other, one last time before walking away. But he didn’t even get to step on his right foot when- BOOM! An explosion happened.
