Chapter 9: Werewolves On The Ship! Part 2

1750 Words
Chapter 9 Victor huffed, feeling tired after running in the battlefield that is the ship. He managed to dodge the silver bullets that the werewolves and the Lycans are shooting at each other just with his senses. He did manage to get grazed a couple of times but thankfully, that much injury won’t hinder his movements or supernatural powers. Although his healing powers slowed down a bit. He looked behind him and saw Oliver tucking in his small head between his shoulders, obviously scared. His small frame was trembling and he was very pale. Even though he isn’t crying, Victor can tell that the poor lad is already pissing his pants in the chaotic, violent pheromones and bloodlust around him. “You okay, Oliver?” Victor asked, letting the boy down from his back where he carried the boy. Oliver nodded slowly, standing tensely on the metal floor of the shaking ship. “We have to hide Oliver” Victor said pathetically. Even though he is a large Siberian wolf that looks very threatening, in reality, he’s more suitable in an office rather than a battlefield. His strength is how he handled all of his power in one burst; meaning that he can enhance his superpowers by tenfold in a short amount of time, then he’ll be just your average Lycan. Deserie trusted him to catch Caramella but as he can tell, his niece is not an easy target. ‘I have no reason to take them back to the pack, and I have no desire to do so after knowing about how capable Carmilla is. But now that I found out that the war between Lycans and Werewolves has reached them, I might have to persuade Carmilla to come home for their own safety’ he thought, thinking about ways to persuade a stubborn single mother who is very overprotective when it comes to her son. They are hiding in one of the rooms in the captain’s quarters which have been abandoned a while ago. The room is large with a queen sized bed, a computer, a study desk and a coffee table that is filled with papers and maps. It's surprising that the Captain’s room is still intact. There is no sign of breaking in and no sign of damage anywhere, which makes the place really suspicious. Oliver managed to climb on the bed and was stepping on the headboard where he was peeking at a small circular window. He looks anxious with his trembling knees, but he has a determined face as his eyes scour through the fighting outside. “What are you looking for, Oliver?” Victor asked curiously, pushing an empty cabinet towards the door in an attempt to barricade themselves inside until Carmilla finds them. As much as he wanted to help the Lycan’s in this cruiship war; it is not his concern just yet because the Leaders haven’t yet made an international pact to join hands together to defeat the werewolves. For now, as a member of the Golden Order clan, he just has to do what he has to do…and that is to follow his wife’s command. ‘This party is for the second son of the Avagoth clan. And if my information is correct, the Avagoth clan is the richest Lycan clan in the continent. They won’t be defeated by mere common werewolves’ he thought, adding a table with the cabinet, ‘But this little skirmish will surely agitate the Lycans which means that the Leaders will start their meeting that they kept on delaying soon enough’ “Mister, look! The sun is rising!” Oliver suddenly shouted, shaking Victor from his thoughts. He looked through the window and was relieved to see the orange hue of the sky. The beautiful sunrise is coming, and that will prevent the werewolves from transforming. Werewolves are different from Lycans in a way that they are relatively weaker and that they can’t transform fully into wolves, thus, they are only half beasts. But just like Lycans, they are stronger under the moonlight and if the moon is gone from the sky, they will lose their beastial superpowers and turn into regular humans who have slightly stronger senses. “Leave werewolves! You all are no match to us once that sun truly shines in the sky! You will only march on to your deaths!” A loud roaring voice of an elder Lycan rang from the outside, shaking the ship. Oliver gasped when a large wolf's feet zoomed past the window and came with it, a large body of a black wolf with grayish tips. The wolf with thick white mane and tail walked forward with his a*s towards the small window where Oliver is peeking from. The boy almost froze at the sight of the elder wolf and the pheromones that were oozing from the closed window. Victor scrunched his face too, feeling submissive over that wolf. He climbed the bed too, not minding stepping over the white sheets with his formal shoes and peeked outside with Oliver. He carried Oliver in his arms so they can watch what was happening outside together. … “Are you going to fight?” Caramella asked Darius who was rolling up his sleeves. To be honest, Caramella is stealing some glances on Darius’ now exposed arm. She followed the movement of the muscle that is bulging and the visible arteries. She looked away quickly after realizing how long she’s been staring. ‘Ugh, I shouldn’t get distracted by how sexy he is right now. I should focus on saving Oliver!’ she reminded herself, almost smacking herself on the face for adoring male muscles at such a crucial time. “Don’t worry, I don’t mind you enjoying the view” Darius smirked at her, looking smug as he flexed his exposed arms. Caramella bit her lower lip at how petty Darius is, “Shut up and let’s go. We have to move if we want to find Oliver” she crouched low, “I hope we can get through this alive” Darius raised a brow, “Isn’t this pretty easy for you? Since you’re a Lycan yourself-” Caramella cut him off with a raise of a finger, “I am not a Lycan, and please shut up” she hissed. Peeking over the debris that they are hiding from, looking from left to right. She can clearly see the werewolves on the left side, where the captain’s quarters is and the entrance to the interior of the ship. They are holed up behind the rooms, shooting guns whilst in their wolf-humanoid transformation. Their wolf heads visibly growling as their furred bodies with bulging muscles moves to annihilate their enemies. Caramella grimaced at the sight of their beastly, humanoid figures. ‘They don’t look like something blessed by the moon. They are more like monsters’ she thought. “They look ugly don’t they” Darius commented too, now behind her. His warmth is overwhelming but she did not point it out. Rather, she scrunched her nose to prevent her from inhaling more of his Dominant Alpha pheromones. “I think Victor took him inside the ship while the chaos reigned” Caramella pointed at the shattered windows that lead to the captain’s quarters. It is swarming with werewolves that are holding guns or melee weapons, but her motherly instincts urged her to head inside. Darius hummed, “I can feel him there too. Our Oliver” Caramella was about to point out that they aren’t even sure if Darius is really Oliver’s father, but she was cut off. “I have to regroup with my family” Darius announced after that ordeal, “Come with me, we’ll draw a charge towards the werewolves inside and I will make sure to make a way for you to get inside as fast as possible” Caramella glanced at the serious look on Darius’ face before looking back at the barrage of growling werewolves. The bullets flying above her head is too much even for her Lycan senses and even if she did manage to dodge them, Darius would find out that she and Oliver are Lycan. Which is bad for their future. ‘But if push comes to shove, I will show my true form if Oliver is really in danger. For now, I think he is safe with Victor…whoever that man is. I will choose to trust Darius and Victor with this’ As much as she likes to do everything on her own with her own strength, sometimes, there is no harm in accepting people’s help. A brown wolf with white limbs and snout came barreling towards them, dodging the bullets like an aerial dancer. Behind him is a group of wolves with different colors, wearing what seems to be white collars around their necks with letters, A.C.S. (Avagoth Clan Security), and bulletproof shields behind their backs. The brown wolf finally reached them, ducking onto cover at the rubble they were hiding into. The wolf bodyguards quickly transformed into their human forms and grabbed their shields mid transformation, blocking the incoming silver bullets that is peltering on them. “Young Master!” The brown wolf Lycan who has transformed into a human with long brunette hair that is tied on a loose ponytail and concerned emerald green eyes. He looks like an innocent servant who doesn’t want trouble with his gentle face. “Frowen” Darius said, “I thought you were not going to this party?” Frowen pulled out a g*n from the inside of his coat and shoved it in Darius’ empty hands, “The Lord insisted me to come” “Why?” Darius frowned. Frowen slowly moved his head to look at Caramella who had a stern look on her face, watching them talk to each other. Darius frowned even deeper, “You mean, my father sent you to watch me?” he growled in annoyance. “Yes. And well, I can’t possibly say no to the leader now, don’t I” Caramella felt like there is something going on right now that she doesn’t know, but decided to shove the thought deep in her mind and just focus on looking for Oliver. “Darius” She called out to her supposed mate. Darius turned his head towards her in anticipation. As much as she doesn’t like Darius, it's inevitable that she needs him right now, “Let’s go ahead with your plan”
