---POV Julie--- I looked over to Benson and his jaw tightened. “What’s wrong?” I asked. “Monica won’t leave.” He sighed irritably. “Would you like me to talk to her?” I asked without thinking and both of us looked shocked at my response. She’s not just some woman at the bar, she’s a supposed family friend. That, and I’m not in the mood for an altercation right now. The kids need me. I don’t have time for her nonsense. My internal monologue wasn’t lost on Benson, but his shock turned to a soft grin. “What? You don’t think I can?” I flinched and thought about how I’d answer this time around. Just meeting the girl had me jealous and he found out without even trying. I won’t be stupid enough to do that again. He enjoyed it too much. “I didn’t say you couldn’t.”
