I held onto Julie’s shaking body tightly until we arrived at our new home. I wanted to stay with my dad as long as I could but I knew I needed to find something closer to the school and work so we can see each other more often. Now we were just a ten-minute walk from the boys’ campus while Julie and I were a thirty-minute drive from work. That is much better than two hours. As we pulled into the driveway, I didn’t even wait for the car to stop moving before I carried her out of the door. I kept her secure in my arms and walked through the threshold. “This isn’t how I wanted the three of you to see our new home, but I couldn’t make it all the way back to dad’s.” I said looking down at my mate desperately.
“Make it stop.” She whimpered again.
