-----Elaine---- “Julia, it’s okay. Thomas is fine, and neither Kave nor I mind that you didn’t make it over,” I reassured her gently. To be honest, there had been so many new faces swirling around me that she could lie and say she had been there, and I wouldn’t even know the difference. I tried to lighten the mood, hoping to ease some of the guilt weighing on her. Julia gave me a watery smile. “Thanks. I’m good now. It’s silly of me to be feeling teary now that I know he’s going to be okay.
