"Henry, leave." He kept looking at me.
"Are you sure?" I wasn't sure, but I didn't want to fall into his clutches again either.
"Just get out of here."
He lowered his head and walked away.
I took a deep breath and began to sob.
"Sweetie." Sandra entered the kitchen. "What happened?" She hugged me.
"Sandra, where were you?" I asked between my sobs.
"I was at the market." So Henry had lied when he told me he had given her the day off. "Come on, I'll make you a cup of tea."
I sat at the kitchen island and she made tea. Since Sandra had always been discreet, she didn't ask me what happened.
I finished my tea and headed to my room.
I woke up to my phone ringing. I looked at the screen—it was Pedro.
