CHAPTER 2

Sandra came back with my tea. Boldo tea was awful, but I had to drink it all. I didn't want to tell her what had happened. I spent the whole Saturday at home, still thinking about him. Luckily, Petter and Sandra were there with me. "Hey Liz, whenever you're ready, just talk to me," Sandra said gently. I couldn't lie to her when something was bothering me. "Thanks," I murmured, cuddling up to her. We were watching a romantic movie and munching on popcorn, with Petter there, of course. "Hey, girl," Petter greeted. "Hi, Petter." "Sandra and I are going out to dinner at a restaurant tonight," he paused. "Want to come with us?" "No," I replied quickly. I couldn't intrude on their moment. "Are you sure? We can stay." "No, Sandra, you can go." She hesitated for a second. "I'm fine. And Ana invited me to a party today." "Are you going to go?" "Of course." I looked at the time on the living room wall clock. "By the way, I need to get dressed." I smiled at her and headed towards the stairs. "Okay, we might not come back today," she called after me. "No worries! Have fun," I shouted from the top of the stairs. Even they had romantic dates, and I didn't?! Here I was, stuck doing nothing because of a lousy contract. I lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling and imagining the possibilities of Henry signing that contract without knowing me. My phone rang, and I saw it was Ana. It was already 1:00 in the morning. "Ana?" "Liz, get over here!" She was drunk. "Igor...." "The hot professor is with that Britney chick," Sam shouted from the background. Did Ana tell Sam something?! "What does that have to do with me?!" "Come on, Liz, you never go out," she stammered. "I need help with Igor." "I'm at the sexy guys' club." They started laughing. "He's taking off his clothes." "Who's stripping?" Oh my God! Was it Ana?! "Anaaaaa, Sammm." They didn't answer. "Don't move from there. I'm on my way." I turned off my phone and leapt out of bed. I threw on the first thing I saw. It was a blue dress, low-cut, short, with a round shape and an open back down to the waist. I had been saving it for a special occasion, but since that never came, I decided to wear it today. I put on some closed black shoes with four-inch heels. I couldn't handle anything higher. Not knowing what to expect, I loaded my lashes with mascara and applied red lipstick, which enhanced my complexion. And Henry would get what he deserved for being married and acting like a bachelor. Damn! I had to drive, which I didn't like. With Petter gone, it was mandatory. I have a white Mercedes. I love white cars and bought one when I turned 18. I arrived at the club; the line was huge. I didn't have to wait in line because Pedro's father owned the place and the security guards already knew me. I didn't usually go there, but I often went to Pedro's house with Ana. He was in love with her, but she didn't realize it because she was hung up on Igor. "Miss Navarro!" The security guard greeted me, and I nodded in response. He opened the door for me, and I walked in. The place was packed, and I thought about calling Ana. That's when I realized I had left my phone in the car. "Oh, Liz!" I muttered to myself. I weaved through the crowd, trying not to step on anyone, which was nearly impossible. "Excuse me!" I shouted, and some people made way. After a few minutes, I spotted Ana with Sam, dancing with Igor and Pedro. "Liz! Liz!" she called out to me. "Are you all okay?" "See? Just say one of us is going to strip, and she'll come running!" Ana and Sam laughed. "I can't believe it! That was a dirty trick." "Don't be mad, Liz," Ana said apologetically. "You never go out." "Let's dance." Sam grabbed my arm, and Ana followed us. We made it to the dance floor and started dancing. The music was quite lively. The girls were wild! If my husband could go to a club, then so could I. Although I hadn't seen him yet. I was searching for him with my eyes. Were they telling the truth, or were they just trying to get me here? At least they had managed to get me out of the house. Igor suddenly appeared and started dancing with me. The music was taking over my body, and I knew I was dancing to the right rhythm. I looked for him again, glancing up at the club, and there was a man with his back turned, catching my attention. He was wearing a white t-shirt and black jeans that showed off his physique. He was handsome. He turned around and our eyes met, my breath caught. It was Henry. We looked at each other for a fraction of a second. His expression changed, now he was serious. Igor pulled me out of my trance, offering me a drink. "Here, you'll like it." I took the glass from his hand and downed it in one gulp. "Relax," Igor shouted in my ear. I made a face; the drink was bitter, and I had no idea what it was. I wasn't used to this kind of drink. I grabbed Ana and Sam's glasses and downed each one in a single gulp. My whole body heated up; I was already feeling a bit dizzy. I looked in the same place where Henry should have been, and to my surprise, he was no longer there. Another guy started dancing with me; I couldn't see who it was. He just followed my rhythm; the drink was already taking effect. We started dancing very close. He grabbed me by the waist and I started grinding on him; he was very excited. When I turned around, I saw a handsome dark-skinned guy with honey-colored eyes and a goatee. Oh my God! Our lips touched automatically. What a delicious kiss; it had been a while since I had last kissed someone. I had only kissed once; it was in my sophomore year of high school when I was 16 years old. After kissing John, I hadn't kissed anyone else. At that moment someone bumped into me, and as soon as I turned around to complain and curse the person who got in my way, I felt something cold on my body. I felt my whole dress getting wet. I didn't see the person's face; I just closed my eyes and took a deep breath. When I opened my eyes, it was him! "Excuse me," he whispered in my ear. "Miss Navarro!" I closed my eyes again. "Are you okay?" What a voice this man had. Damn, Henry! It had to be you. "Oh, sure! I'm perfectly okay," I said, opening my eyes. "Come!" He pulled me by my hand. I felt a jolt when he touched me. "Let me help you out." He took me to the bar; I don't know where he got the handkerchief from, and he started drying me off. When his hand went between my breasts, he just stared at me; my whole body tingled with his touch. "Give that to me!" I took the handkerchief from his hand and finished drying myself. He just looked at me. "Excuse me?" He looked apologetic. "Excuse me!" I said nothing more; I just walked away through the crowd looking for the handsome guy. "Liz, Liz, Liz..." He kept calling me. I found the girls. "What happened?" Ana asked, pointing at my dress. "That i***t McKnight spilled his drink on me." "How did that happen?" "I was kissing a handsome guy." I smiled as I remembered. "He bumped into me, and when I turned around to curse the person who did it, I was surprised by something cold on my body." "He's attracted to you!" "Stop with the nonsense, Ana." "Yes, he is. If he wasn't, he wouldn't have interrupted your kiss with the guy." Ana might even have been right. Only he didn't know me. We stayed a little longer at the club; it was almost 5:00 in the morning. "Let's go! I'm exhausted," Sam called to us. We all headed to the parking lot. "Are you coming with us, Liz?" Igor asked. "No, I came in my car." "Then see you tomorrow." I said goodbye to them. They got in the car and left. I got into my car and wondered what had happened to Henry. I jumped when someone tapped on my car window. I was surprised when I opened my eyes and saw Henry. I gestured with my hands, asking what he wanted. He motioned for me to lower the windows. "What do you want?" I rolled my eyes as I asked. "Could you give me a ride?" "Isn't that a bit much?" He flashed a charming smile.
