Drew sighed and pulled her to his chest. “I’m sorry, but it is about Hailey. It looks like she went to your house last night, and while she was there, she fell and hit her head on the entertainment center. I just got off the phone with John and Alice. They said that she has a skull fracture and a bleed between her skull and the lining over her brain. They don’t know if she will need surgery or not.” Drew paused and lifted Carrie’s head to look him in the eyes. “It might make you mad, but I have offered to arrange to have Hailey brought to the hospital here in Blue Moon. It’s small, but it can give her the best care in the state.”
