In the deep pool of my subconscious, I felt a slight nudge from the darkness to the light. A soft voice whispered out my name, “Katherine.” I was struggling to wake up. All I wanted to do was stay in my dream. Another nudge pushes further towards the light. That’s when I hear the soft voice again; however, this time it was much louder, “Katherine.”             Still half asleep and quite groggy, I returned a soft groan of question. I then felt arms wrap around me, softly picking me up, and carried me out of the car. The arms felt so familiar; however, I was too tired to place where I knew them from. I began dreaming of a day in the past when a handsome man had carried me out of the car on prom night. I remember waking up to see my front door open and my dad standing there. I was too tired after dancing all night to even care that I was being carried. In the dream, the man softly whispered in my ear, “I love you, Kat.” That’s when I then felt a jagged movement in my carrier’s walk causing me to wake up all the way. As I opened my eyes a handsome face came to view. I jolted upwards causing both me and my carrier to fall. I cried out in pain as my right side hit the ground. A jolt of hot pain shot through my arm as I rolled to release the pressure, causing me to scream out in agony. The same arm I had broken in eleventh-grade playing basketball. “Katherine! Are you okay?” I could hear the complete and utter worry in his voice. At that moment, I realized he did care. Yes, I understand he’s been my stalker for God knows how long, so “care” is a long shot from his personality right now. Then I started thinking about the last twenty-four hours and became pissed again. However, it seemed I couldn’t stay pissed for too long.             At the sound of the voice, the agony subsided and the anger eased, and then I realized my carrier had been Axel. “Axel? I’m… I’m fine.” I winced before finishing. “Are you okay? Where are we?” My anxious mind tried wrapping around where we were and what just happened.             “I’m fine, Kat. We’re at my home… Our home.” I then turned my head to see a large burgundy door belonging to a very large home. Our home.
