They all set out and drove to Ikorudu. Rayford and his two friends drove in one car, while Black and his men drove in two separate cars.

"Oh God please guide them safely" Leah Rose prayed out loud after the men had already driven out.

"Are you girls thinking what I'm thinking?" Ming asked using her index finger to tap her chin.

"And what exactly are you thinking?" Amaka asked.

"These men need back up, no matter how stubborn they might think they are, I don't think they can do this alone. We don't know how many of the kidnappers are there. What if they are out numbered?"

"That's a risk we can't afford to take" Leah Rose said thoughtfully.

"I think we should involve the police" Amaka said.

"You just took the words right out of my mouth" Ming concurred. "I have the number of this division's police"

"Then call them immediately" Leah Rose suggested.

Ming took out her phone and dialed the number of the police station.

"Hello, the police is your friend" came a man's voice.

"Hello good evening officer, please we have a matter to report"

"What is it madam?"

"It's about k********g, our fri..."

"Madam, I suggest you come over to the police station and report the matter"

"But you haven't even heard what I have to say?"

"I believe you know where our station is?"

"Yes I do but.."

"Then come there" and with that said, the police officer ended the call.

"What did he say?" Amaka and Leah Rose asked in unison.

"He said we should come and report at the police station"

"Let us go then" Leah Rose picked up her car key, while Ming gave instructions to the nanny regarding her baby, and they all went to the police station.

When they got to the station, they were asked to make a statement.

"So madam what you are saying is that, your friend was kidn*pped?" One of the police officer asked.

"Yes sir" the three women answered.

"How sure are you that, it was actually a kidnap? For all you know, she could have ran away with her lover"

"But officer I just told you what the kidnapper did to me before k********g her, can't you see the bruises on my face?" Amaka showed the officer her face.

"Okay... so you were there when she was kidn*pped?"

"Yes now, officer didn't you read the report?"

"Ha that means you are under arrest o"

"For what?"

"For being an accomplice to your friend's kidnap"

"Officer you can't arrest her now, didn't you hear all what she said? She was also beaten by the kidnapper. Isn't the bruises on her face obvious?" Leah Rose asked in anger as one of the officers tried taking Amaka into the cell.

"Madam, are you trying to teach me my job?" The first officer asked.

"Well, isn't it obvious you don't know how to do your job? We came here to report a case of kidnap, and instead of you to do something about it, you are arresting us" Ming was already fuming with anger as she spoke.

"Come you this girl, I suggest you watch your tone of voice if you don't want to join her. Allow us to do our job. If you knew how to do it on your own, then why did you come to us?"

"See officer, she is only trying to explain things to you" Leah Rose said.

"Please keep your explanation to yourself, we are going to investigate this matter and once we confirm she is innocent, she will be released"

"And how long is that supposed to take?" Leah Rose asked.

"Well, weeks or months, it all depends on how long it takes until we are able to look fully well into the matter"

"You mean she is going to be here for weeks?" Ming angrily asked.

"You can bail her out if you want" the officer said nonchalantly.

"What? You must be joking"

"It's okay Ming, officer how much do we need to bail her out?"

"Fifty thousand naira"

"You need fifty thousand naira to bail out someone you just took into the cell less than a minute ago?" Ming asked, this time she was looking into the face of the officer.

"Madam, do you want to beat me?"

"You are going to release her now, and we are not giving you a dime" Ming hit her hands on the officer's desk as she spoke.

"You are under arrest madam" another officer said to Ming approaching her with cuffs.

"What for?"

"For speaking rudely, to an officer of the law"

"Don't you dare touch me" Ming stepped back as she spoke. And as the officer tried to cuff her, she pushed him.

"You pushed an officer of the law? double offense" the officer forcefully took Ming's hands and cuffed them.

"Get your hands off me!"

"Wait, what? You can't just arrest her" Leah Rose tried stopping the officer who took a screaming Ming into the cell to join Amaka.

"Officer you can't do this, this is not right"

"We have already done it. And if you don't want to be arrested alongside your sisters, I suggest you watch what you say"

"Watch what I say? You are the one arresting innocent people for no reason. And you are asking me to watch what I say"

"So you have declared someone to be innocent even before any form of investigation has been conducted?" The police officer asked.

"What of you that arrested someone without even confirming if they are guilty or not"

"Abdul" the first officer called. "Yes sir" Abdul answered.

"Take this woman into the cell with her sisters, she is beginning to talk too much"

Officer Abdul forcefully took Leah Rose into the cell to join Amaka and Ming.

Black and his men stopped afar off from a building, which their tracker led them to. Rayford and his friends pulled up quietly behind them.

Black and his men got down from their cars and he quickly signaled each one on which direction to go. Then he came to where Rayford was parked.

"You would have to wait out here for us sir, please do not come in, it's too risky"

"We totally understand, we will wait out here" Rayford nodded as he spoke.

Black turned and went into the building with his men, leaving Rayford and his friends to wait outside.

At the entrance of the building, there was an armed man on guard, Black noticed him first, and shot him on his chest. Luckily for them, the guns they had were silencers, so no one would hear the gun shot.

They went in, to find two more men guarding another door that seemed to be leading to a room, they turned almost same time Black and his men got there. Two of his men quickly shot at them, but one was quick enough to shoot at one of Black's men first, before Black shot him in his head.

With the two men dead, Black bent down to examine his wounded man. The bullet grazed his right shoulder, so it wasn't a deep injury. Black applied pressure on it and asked one of his men to take him to the car.

"Take him to the car and continue to apply pressure"

Black opened the door to find an empty room, with the back door open. It was obvious, Timothy had escaped with Jane.

Black and his men quickly ran out through the back door to chase after Timothy.

"Whose idea was it for us to even come to the police station in the first place?" Ming asked as she held the cell bars looking dejected.

"Wasn't it your idea? Weren't you the one having thoughts about the boys not having enough manpower to withstand Mr. Okafor's son and his men?" Leah Rose asked.

"Oh... that was my idea? Are you sure I was the one who said it?" Ming asked with so much innocence, as if she couldn't remember anything she said.

"No, I was the one who said it" Leah Rose said with so much sarcarm which made the three of them to laugh.

"I can see you ladies are having fun, I suggest you keep it up because you are going to need a lot of it" the police officer who arrested them said as he passed by their cell.

"What is even his problem?" Leah Rose asked after the police officer had left.

"I don't know, probably he just found out that his wife cheated on him with their gateman?" Amaka said with a shrug of her shoulders.

"Hehehehehhehe....Amaka, where did that come from?" Leah Rose bent over as she laughed.

"Do I know? Is he not the one acting like his wife ran off with his best friend? Stupid man!"

Leah Rose laughed all the more, even Amaka was laughing too.

"Poor man, I pity him" Ming said in laughter.

"Come, this one we are all laughing, how are we going to get out of this place?" The moment Amaka asked this question, they all stopped laughing.

"The boys are out there trying to save Jane" Ming said.

"And we definitely can't involve mom and dad in this, and my husband is not in the country" Leah Rose said.

"Then we are finished, ewo..... My baby o..... who will breast feed him?" Ming lamented.

"Let's not lose hope, let's just pray the boys are able to save Jane in one piece, then they would be able to come get us" Leah Rose said.

Black and his men came out to the back of the house to find Timothy holding Jane with his left arm across her neck, and his right hand holding a gun to her head.

"Do not come any closer or I'm going to blow up her brains" Timothy threatened as Black and his men tried to get closer to him.

Black knew he had to be careful to avoid Jane being shot.

"Timothy please don't do..."

"Shut the f**k up! Now I want you and your men to drop your guns" Timothy commanded.

Black and his men immediately obeyed and dropped their guns on the ground.

"Now kick them towards me" Black and his men kicked their guns towards Timothy.

"Good, now I want you to turn around, and do not look back or I will shoot her" Timothy threatened them as he tried moving backwards with Jane.

As Timothy was talking, Black sighted Rayford coming behind Timothy with a gun in his hands, so he slightly nodded his head for him to act.

Rayford quickly shot Timothy on his right knee, and he immediately let Jane go, as he fell to the ground holding his knee and groaning in pains, Rayford rushed to Jane's side and immediately enveloped her in a hug. "Baby are you okay?" He started looking her over, searching her body for injuries.

"I'm fine, oh Rayford you are here" she hugged him again. "I thought I might never see you again"

"I'm here baby don't cry" as they hugged, they heard the sound of a gun being c****d. Rayford turned to find Timothy pointing a gun at them. But before he could take a shot, Black quickly shot him in the head. And he went over to check for a pulse after they all stood in shock watching him struggle for his life.

"He is dead" he said to Rayford and Jane. Jane placed her head on Rayford's shoulders, and started crying.

"Shhhh... it's okay baby, don't cry, you're safe now" he rubbed on her back as he spoke.

After Jane had stopped crying, Rayford carried her bridal style, to the car where he had Dele and Michael to be on standby in case Timothy came out through the front.

"What happened to staying in the car sir?" Black asked Rayford with a smile on his face when they were about to leave.

"Let's just say I had other plans in mind, I wasn't willing to leave anything to chance. You should be thanking God I came, if not probably Timothy would have escaped by now"

"And I saved your life too"

"I guess we are even then. Thanks so much man"

"I was just doing my job sir, besides I have you to thank too, even if what you did was risky"

Rayford smiled and got into the car to drive Jane to the hospital, while Black and his men followed behind.
