Saturday Work kept me busy all week, which helped since it bummed me out that Michael never texted or called. I guessed my words got through to him, and he would respect my wishes after all. I told him it was bad timing, that I didn’t want us to rekindle what was a teenage romance, but… damn, I still kind of hoped he’d try. In theory, I was relieved. Realistically, part of me regretted telling him to back off. Whatever, I was the one who decided not to pursue it. My heart was still healing from my last relationship, and I didn’t need the pressure of a new one.
