Chapter THREE: A fortunate coincidence At the same time, Deputy Director Caulfield was at Manchester International Airport. "He looks like a Russian," the Border Guard was telling him. Richard Caulfield sighed. He didn't like the way that his boss, Captain Gibson, always seemed to give him the complicated jobs, mostly without adequate briefing. All he knew, Caulfield, was that he had to meet a certain plane and greet a new arrival from Germany. He was to escort him to a plush hotel in the middle of Manchester and keep a discrete eye on what he did next. Why? Was he a spy?
