"Now, why do I get the feeling that if I send this little detail to the wrong people... that bastard child won't live to see the sunset?" The fragile part of me that existed since my childhood died at that moment. The girl who used to run away from danger died when I felt the intense heat. This woman was threatening my baby. My six-year-old boy. My body moved without my brain giving any instructions. I jumped off the massive bed and threw my body at her. Camille screamed in shock as I crashed into her. The weight of my body caused her to fall backward with me onto the heavy bedroom carpet. The silver phone flew out of her hand and slid across the floor. "Don't you ever threaten my son!" I yelled. I grabbed a handful of her perfect blonde hair and pulled hard. Camille shrieked, her fake mask falling away. The hand he ripped showed me his henchman to attack their cheek which I could not defend myself against. I pressed her shoulders down with my knees. The loud sound of my slap to her face created an echo through the spacious room. Camille let out a loud scream to remove me from her space. She used her hips to force me off. Somebody help me! Guards! I will end your life if you ever speak his name again I shouted while pulling her expensive red jacket collar. I will tear you apart! Do you hear me, Camille? I will tear you apart! The wooden doors of the bedroom swung open with a sudden force. The doors struck the walls which created a loud sound that made the floor shake. The room got filled with dark cold energy that rushed inside. The scent of crushed winter pine mixed with my deep anger created a strong smell that filled my nostrils. My wolf nature made me stay in one position. The deafening noise stopped the moment Dominic shouted his command. The loud voice of Dominic created a thunder sound that shook my body. Dominic lifted me off Camille with his strong hand. He lifted Dominic off the ground while she weighed nothing to him. Dominic set me down behind him to protect my body from door view. His chest was rising and falling fast. His silver eyes showed a terrifying wild light that made him look dangerous. Marcus ran into the room right behind him, looking shocked. Camille sat on the floor with her hair messy and her red jacket torn. A red mark was forming on her cheek where I hit her. She started to cry big fake tears when she saw Dominic. Dominic, Thank God you are here! she sobbed while holding her face. Look at what this wild animal did to me! I came to talk to her but she attacked me. Throw her in the pack prison! Punish her! I stood behind Dominic. My body was heaving with breath as I wore his oversized dark grey shirt. I yelled at the top of my lungs. She stole my phone! She threatened my son! Dominic stayed still at his post because he refused to assist Camille while he chose to watch the ground. He saw my silver cell phone lying near the bed. The screen was still on. Dominic went to pick up the item from the floor. He looked at the screen. Everything in the room became completely silent when the room experienced total silence. His body became tense, and I could see his shoulders getting wider. His jaw muscle started to move. Dominic began to look at Camille with his eyes completely black. The silvery color in his eyes disappeared entirely. He had transformed into an angry beast. Dominic accused me of entering his guest room without permission. His voice became quiet, yet his words created more fear than a loud scream. You bribed my guards. You stole her phone. And you read her private messages. The moment Camille stopped crying she became nervous. I was protecting you Dominic! She is hiding a bastard child! She is trying to trick you and steal your money! I had to find out the truth! Dominic said to you I am going to end your life because you threatened a child. You threatened a boy who carries my bloodline. He is not yours! Camille screamed while pointing at me. The woman is a liar because she had s*x with another man. The Alpha power from Dominic made my body refuse to stand when he walked toward her. Camille fell back onto her hands, looking terrified. Dominic ordered Marcus to take her keys. Take her phone. He ordered his team to take Camille to the small guest house at the edge of the property while she remove all her belongings which he defined as her main house. The house gives her no authority. The house gives her no authority. If she attempts to exit her room now, direct her to the basement for imprisonment. Camille showed her complete shock with her eyes going wide. What? No! You cannot do this! I am the future Luna of this pack! Dominic declared you have no value and ordered his guards to remove you from his presence. Marcus acted without delay to take Camille by her arm and pull her into an upright position before he dragged her out of the bedroom. She resisted him with her whole body as he took her down the hall until the heavy doors closed to cut off all noise. The space returned to complete silence. Dominic turned his body to face me while he maintained his status as holder of my phone. He stared at my phone screen before looking directly at me. Ethan Miller was the name he said in a quiet voice. Someone made a phone call to his Brooklyn school while pretending to be his father according to a caller who posed as his dad. My eyes became filled with tears as I spoke. I did not do that Dominic! I swear! Someone who works with my mother or with Camille must be responsible for this because they have information about his location. They are coming to do him harm. Dominic moved forward to stand closer to me while he closed the distance between us. He reached out and touched my cheek in the area where Camille scratched me. His rough thumb removed a tear from my face. His skin temperature created a body-wide shiver effect on me. The mate bond activated within me which caused my heart to beat at an accelerated speed. Dominic spoke in a soft voice about his enemies who would use the information about him as a weapon against him. Sophie cannot keep him hidden in the city anymore because it has become too dangerous for him. I asked in a whisper what action I should take because I felt completely powerless. You make a deal with me he said while his silver eyes pierced into my inner being. The first task you need to complete requires you to stop any further movement. The second task requires you to lead him to the estate today. You need to remain in this room while pretending to be my mate. I will position my strongest wolves around him to protect him from any threats when you follow these instructions. I studied the dangerous yet powerful man who stood before me because he had made me escape from my life. He had caused my heartbreak yet he was the only person who could protect my son from danger. I softy cried OK because I decided to give up my previous decision. I will bring him here. Dominic achieved triumph as his dark eyes shone with victory. The mission began with you getting dressed because we will depart for Brooklyn immediately. We traveled to the back of Dominic's black SUV which drove rapidly through the snowy streets of New York thirty minutes after we arrived at this location. My heart was beating so fast it caused me physical pain. I wanted to hold Ethan tightly to my chest. The vehicle came to a stop at the brick apartment building which was located in Brooklyn. I did not wait for the driver to open my door. I jumped out and ran up the stairs to the second floor, with Dominic right behind me. My body became frozen with fear after I entered the hallway. The backup apartment had its front door standing wide open. The wood around the lock was completely broken and smashed. I yelled the name Mrs. Higgins while I sprinted into the building. The apartment was a complete disaster because chairs had been thrown upside down and things had been tossed all over the floor. But Mrs. Higgins was not there. And Ethan was gone
