Chapter Thirteen

Unknown POV

"How the f**k did I get into this s**t?!" I ask as I hid just out of sight in the girl's magic room. Even though I was determined to avenge my sister's death, this wasn't my idea of revenge. Trying to get one damn angel was proving annoyingly difficult. She hid in plain sight in public and on Grey Moon lands she was always f*****g followed by wolves and other freaking angels. Suddenly I felt the surge of magic and was slammed with her aura. She was pissed and pissed off angels make mistakes, especially those not in full control. I gritted my teeth as her aura grew stronger until she was in the room. She was panting and looked wild with magic. I shook my head knowing that she couldn't sense me, stupid angel! I moved just as she released her magic, then I shut down her aura. I laughed, I shouldn't been able to affect her at all, she was supposed to be stronger than me. The moment I touched her, she collapses and I teleport us out of there. I land in the basement of what's left of some old pack, I didn't know which one, and I didn't care. "What's that sound?" I hear the damn cat that ruined my sister's life, Mitchell Mathers. It's then I really hear it, as I look down at her. She's barely breathing and her lips are turning blue. "s**t!!!!" Mitchell yells as he takes her from my arms. "What the hell did you do?" I walk away from him shrugging. "Nothing, I brought her here, you wanted me to get her right?" He hisses at me and I turn back to him lifting an eyebrow. "Now young cat you really shouldn't do that. I'm working with you because I want her dead but I'm willing to work with you if I can get her powers. You get to keep the body, that was the deal." "The deal will be off, if I can't get her breathing again!" He yells before I walk away leaving him to deal with her. I'd done my job, now I wanted my reward.

Lucius's POV

As Kai ran upstairs, I turned to go for another run. I was still pissed, it didn't matter that she was right and I knew she was right. I was letting my ego get the best of me. I was not paying attention as I was trying to leave and bump into my parents. They are both pissed off and I'm bracing for a lecture. "How dare you disrespect your mate like that?!?" My dad says his eyes black with fury. "Not only did you argue with her over something like training, you argue in front of the damn house!!" My mom chimes in. "Look, I'm an i***t I get it, but seriously, you didn't see her out there!!! She could have been seriously hurt! Her and her need to be perfect! She didn't need to train like she did today, it was not necessary!" I growl shaking my head. My dad looked at me, "She was right, you don't trust your pack with your mate." He walks away as I shake my head in disbelief.

-you are a damn i***t- Sebastian says

-please stop, you were just as mad-

-not enough to yell at her in front of everyone though-

I sigh knowing that everyone was right, I shouldn't have disrespected her like that. Suddenly Sebastian starts howling in my head.

-what is it?-

-I can't feel her- he howls

I frown -what do you mean you don't feel her-

-for some reason I can sense her usually. Right now, I suddenly can't feel her in the house.-

I run into her sanctuary to find Astral, Celeste, James and Abigail staring at me as I enter. "Why the hell can't I feel my sister, Lucius?!?" James asks me looking me square in the face. "She's not here." Astral says sadly. "Her aura is being blocked and I fear for her. I can feel the presence of another here. I just can't tell who." I shake my head, "Its all my fault." James looks at me, "What did you do?!?!" "We got into an argument that was primarily my fault and she ran upstairs alone." I say as I run my fingers though my hair. "s**t!" I yell. "Well she didn't leave on her own. Strangely I only feel a burst of her magic, almost like she didn't fight back. The blast is more like she was overloaded on magic, possibly due to being mad." Celeste says her wings fluttering. I thought back at how Kai had looked and sounded as she turned to leave. "Oh shit.... s**t s**t!" I yell collapsing to my knees. "She may not have been able to fight back... Again this is my fault." James stares at me. "Explain wolf!!!" James grabs me by my shirt. "Her breathing, she was aggravated and pissed off, but she was starting to wheeze. I could hear it but I was so mad, I... Dammit!" "Are you saying unless whoever has her knows what's going on... She could die?" I gulp as James throws me across the room causing me to slam into a wall nearly breaking bones. "If my sister dies, you have my word, I'll kill you!" I pick myself up as Mike and Frank run into the room hearing the commotion. They see all of us standing there and I hold up my hands to stop the fight before it could break out.

-Cameron, Dad, Shawn, I need you to come to Kai's sanctuary, now-

I sigh sinking into a chair completely pissed at myself. Suddenly Shawn runs in followed closely by my parents and Cameron. "What do you want son? I only came because you used your Alpha tone." I say, "I know I'm a big ass i***t but Kai's missing and it doesn't appear she left willingly or knowingly." Suddenly James jumped. "Oh s**t! Alpha I will apologize now, Tanya's mad at me, but you are going to get the backlash. We have to tell her Kaila missing. She's here by the way." I groan silently knowing he's right. Five seconds late I hear Tanya screaming downstairs. "JAMES MONROE LOGAN!!! I KNOW YOU'RE HERE!" After a minute she comes in the door ready to yell at him. "Hun before you yell and lecture me, Alpha Lucius has something he should tell you." He backs up leaving me to face Tanya. "You can hate me later all you want, but... Kai's been taken." I watch as several emotions play across her face before settling on anger. "MY BEST FRIEND HAS BEEN TAKEN?!?!?" She screams out before charging at me shifting mid run. I brace myself for impact as she leaps pinning me down hissing and snarling at me.

Kaila's POV

I move my head as I try to open my eyes. I feel sore and tired as I hear movement. "Luke?" I call trying to find him. Instead of his pine tree woodsy scent, I smell nothing until I'm covered in a musky scent. "He isn't here, sweetie! It's just you and me." My eyes fly open to see Mitchell standing over me. "Mitchell what the hell?!" I try to move and find not only am I chained, I'm also mostly naked. "What did you do?!?!" He laughs, "I saved your life for one. Came in sounding like a damn fish outta water." I growl at him, "Let me and the others go Mitchell." I try using my magic only to find not only can't I use them, my wrists burn the more I try. "Don't bother trying to use you gifts.. you are suppressed sweetie. No one can even feel your aura." I growl at him again and he shakes his head before leaving.

*You okay?*

I squeal as a voice enters my head. "Sorry, I didn't know how bad you were suppressed." I look around until I find a young angel across from me. "Who are you?" Suddenly a door opens and she's back in my head.

*I'm Jackie. It's best we speak like this. They can't harm you until the full moon. I'm determined to get you back to Luke before then.*

I nod slightly as another angel walks up to me. "Drink!" He demands kneeling in front of me as he places a cup to my lips. I go to fight when I hear Jackie again.

*It's just water. They aren't poisoning you.*

I drink it happily not sure why I trust this angel.

*You will always trust those sent to guide you. It's why you always trusted James even when he was in over his head*

I choke for a second knowing I hadn't said anything. "You've had enough. One of us will bring food later." The angel in front of me says before storming out the room. I turn back to her as she lifts a finger to her lips.

*Anything you speak, they can hear. There is microphones down here all over the place. It's how the others kept getting hurt. They just wouldn't stay quiet. Then again they couldn't mentally speak like we can.*

*So my parents and Aunt are here?* I ask as my eyes widen and my wings flutter. She nods before walking over to me. She kneels down beside me rubbing my wrist.

*How are you not chained?* I ask. She shakes her head and places a hand on my chest.

*You have a strong connection with Spirit. I think I can get you help but you have to try to transfer your power to me. Just a little, I'm not suppressed because they know I'm not going to run. My job is to make sure you get home safe.*

My mouth drops open and I shake my head in disbelief.

*Focus young angel we need to do this before they realize what I'm doing.* I nod and focus on Spirit until she gasps softly.

*Good that's enough now. Save your energy, you'll need it.* My eyes grew heavy just as she backs away back to her side. *Sleep child, and I'll watch over you.*

James's POV

After I pulled Kaleigh off of Lucius and Tanya had shifted back, we moved to Lucius’s office. It was hard trying to plan when we had no leads, so I was thrown off when I felt someone contacting me telepathically.

*Hello, can you hear me?*

*Who is this?*

*James?*

I gasped out loud drawing the attention of the room.

*Alright who are you and how do you know my name.*

*Names Jackie, I'm a guardian. I have confirmed that not only is Kaila here with me, I know where but I do know why.*

*Why then?*

*Mitchell wants her as his mate, Cory's after her power. I don't know how but I need your help. She cannot be marked by Mitchell, if she is, not only will she not come into full power, it'll kill her wolf.*

*You know this how?*

*The book if you don't believe me, read the book. You were removed as her guardian when you chose your mate. The book won't hide from you because your sister is in danger. Find it.. I have to go!*

I blink quickly as I look around. "Luke, where's the book?" He looks at me weirdly as he unlocks a drawer of his desk. Every angel gasps as he places it on the desk. "That book doesn't harm you when you touch it?" Tanya asks in surprise. "I tried to touch it one time and it shocked the hell outta me!" She adds shaking her head. I ignore all them as I pull the book to me flipping to a page. On the page was my sister and Mitchell but my sister looked different and very unhappy. "It's true." I whisper turning the book to Luke. Abigail looks at the book too, "He's trying to mark her?" I nod, "Someone named Cory wants her powers." Celeste grabs me by my shoulders, "How do you know this?!" "Someone named Jackie told me, I didn't know if I should believe her and she told me to check the book." Astral and Celeste share a look, "Mary was Cory's sister, it's possible he's trying to finish where she failed." I nod, "So who's Jackie?"

"James, did she tell you anything about herself?" Luke asks staring at me, "Does she know where they are?" I shake my head, "She said she's a guardian. She said I was removed as Kai's guardian when I chose Tanya." "So it's true," I hear Astral whisper. Everyone in the room stares at him. "What's true, Astral?" Celeste says staring harder at him. "Twin, what do I not know?!" Astral sighed, "James was assigned to protect her. It's why he was sent here, not just as her brother, but as her guardian." I shake my head, "I was sent to protect the book until she was ready. The goddess said I was done and that my job was done." He nods, "You got Kaila to her true mate, that was your job. Once your job ended, you had a choice, and you choose Tanya. Jackie must have been sent shortly after that. Mitchell has been planning this for a while. Jackie's job is to keep her safe until Luke can get back to her." "Astral, if she's been assigned another guardian, she's either more than we thought or she's nearing full power without any of us realizing it." Celeste says confused. Luke says, "Where are they? Also where's the others?" I shrug, "I don't know and I don't know how to contact Jackie."

*You called me?*

I scream as she enters my mind.

*Dammit would you not.* I scold.

*Sorry, I thought you wanted to contact me.* Jackie apologizes

*So that's how this works, I think you name and you pop in my head.*

*Ummm you did more than that. I felt you reach out.*

*Anyway is my sister okay?*

*She's resting. I'm trying to keep her as calm as possible. She is in no shape to fight against them. I need to get her out of here, she needs her mate.*

*One sec* I tell her.

I cut the connection, "Jackie says wherever they are, she needs to get Kai out of there and back to you, Luke."

*Oh by the way, the others are here as well, they were moved before Kai got here. Last I knew they were weakened but very much alive.*

I grit my teeth, "The others at there too, we have to get them out." "Wait a second!" Astral screams making everyone jump. "If Jackie is communicating with you, that may means she's not suppressed, she either isn't their captive or she's earned their trust." "What you mean, not a captive?" Luke growls at him. "Some times guardians put themselves in situations to help their assigned ones." "I'm sure she's a captive, she has no idea where they are." I say shaking my head.

Lucius’s POV

"Can she tell us anything?" Knowing my mate was alive was good but I wanted her back in my arms and quickly. I looked at the book sighing softly at the picture, "I refuse to let this happen." I whisper as I place my hand on the book. Suddenly I'm throw into the dream of Kai drowning again.

The sky is dark as the water laps away at the shore. Suddenly I see Kai and Mitchell in the sand. She's fighting against him trying to push him away. "Stop fighting me love." He says sweetly. "I'm not your love! I'm going to kill you!" She yells just as an angel throws her into the water. I'm trying to run to get to her but it's like I'm made of lead. "You were supposed to mark her!" The angel yell before jumping in the water after Kai. I try to get to her again this time, I'm stopped by Mitchell himself. "This isn't your fight, Lucius!" "Like hell if it isn't! That's my mate!!" With that the vision shatters and I'm left gasping for air.

"Luke, can you hear me?" I blink slowly as I look at my dad. I take a deep breath and nod. "Don't try to talk yet, process what you just saw." I look over at James shaking my head slightly. "I will not let them hurt her. I refuse to let them hurt her." I say slowly and clearly. He nods, "I hear you." I stand up slowly as my dad tries to help me. "I need to find that beach. They have to be somewhere near there." "So it's the same vision from before?" My dad asks. I nod as James says, "That means there's still time and she is still in danger. The dream wouldn't be reoccurring if it was over." Tanya said, "How long has this dream been going on?!" James looks at her, "You never knew?!" She shakes her head, "I knew she was having trouble sleeping but she never said why." "Months." Celeste says cutting to the point. "The fact that her mate started receiving them to meant she was in more danger than we knew. Which makes sense because Mary was a high level angel." "When she was gone, they stopped but with Cory picking up the plan, the danger was back." James says. "And so was the vision." I finish. I rub my hand over my face sighing softly. "How can I find her, if she can't tell me where she is?" "There may be a way, but we'd need Jackie's help." Celeste says slowly.

Kaila's POV

I sat up suddenly as I woke up looking around. I bit my lip as I look over at Jackie sleeping. I adjust myself as I yawn softly. I needed to get out of here and instinctively a plan was forming. Rather than question what I am about to do, I take a deep breath and wait until Cory and Mitchell had done their rounds before Jackie finally looks at me.

*What's on your mind? You look like you planning something.*

I look at her and nod. *No idea why but I feel compelled to get out of here like right now.* She lifts an eyebrow as I begin scratching my leg. *Compelled?* I nod and whisper, "I need to contact Luke." She shook her head, "I don't know how to do that." I sigh before realizing she could contact James. I couldn't sense any one thank to Cory but she could. *James, contact James and he'll be with Luke.* She c***s her head at me. *What are you doing?* I look her in the eyes and say, "I'm following my instincts." She nods and goes to contact James when I reach over to try and grab her hand. She raises an eyebrow before taking my head and I'm suddenly in on the conversation. *James, I have Kaila here can you hear us.*

*Kaila? Sister are you okay?* He asks shocked.

*I'm okay at the moment. I need to talk to Luke.*

*I don't know how to do that sis. We are trying to find you but we need some idea as to where you are.*

*I don't know yet. James I need you to take Luke to my sanctuary and set up the circle. Don't ask me what I'm doing I'm not sure but I feel like this is something I must do.*

*When?* He asks simply.

*Tonight when the moon is at its highest.*

Jackie interrupts, *What are you doing?*

*I told y'all, I'm following my instincts. I need to get to Luke. I'm only doing what I need to do we can all get out of here.* I reply mentally rolling my eyes at her.

*It'll be as you ask sis. Just do what you need to safely.* Then Jackie and James break the connection leaving me tired. I go to close my eyes praying that whatever I was doing would work.

"Kaila?" I roll over slowly as I look at Jackie. "Yea?" I asks blinking slowly. "How are you feeling?" She ask with concern filling her eyes. "Tired, sore, ready to get out of here, why?" I ask siting up looking at her. She knelt down in front of me looking me over. "Your eyes are glowing. It's not normal and you have been glowing lightly all day. So tell me this plan you got going on." I look at her and shrug, "I don't have a plan actually, I'm going in as blind as you are." Just as she takes my hand, a connection came from James.

*We're ready here so what do you need from us.*

*Keep Luke safe, Jackie will keep me safe.*

*Sis?* James replies his uneasiness coming through the connection. I shake my head as I remove my hand from Jackie's. Taking a deep breath I find my center as I close my eyes and pray that I don't overdo this.

"From the east, the sun rises beginning each day just as air begin each life. Air please come to me." I gasp as I see James jump back as the yellow candle lights in the sanctuary.

*What are you....?* I hear him start but I ignore him not wanting to lose focus. "From the south comes the warmth of life and I call Fire to me." This time I see Abigail gasp as she steps back from the red candle. "What the...?" I take another breath, "From the west the sun set allowing the moon to control the tides. So it's only right I call Water to me." I see Celeste smile as the blue candle lights and I realize my connection to the other angels is slowly coming back. "From the north I draw strength from the world around me, so Earth I call you to me." Astral smiles and nods as I feel him in my mind, "Keep going young angel, I'll protect him." Filled with renew confidence, I smile and focus on every element, emotion, and for a moment I feel overwhelmed and stressed but I look at the angels around the circle and then at Jackie who whispers, "Go ahead, I got you." Then I calm and focus on my love, my heart, my mate, and I'm no longer afraid of myself or my power. "From myself I draw on love peace and tranquility. The kind I know only comes from Spirit!" Before I can call and complete the circle, spirit fills me and I see Luke holding onto the purple candle tightly. The others gasping as it lights cause his eyes to fly open. "Kaila? Can you hear me? I'm sorry about everything, please help me find you." His eyes closes as tears fall and I start to cry as well. "Help us." I whisper to the listening elements. Suddenly I feel my soul lifted from my body and when I open my eyes I'm on the beach in the moon light and I'm staring at Luke. "Hi."

Lucius's POV

As the candles lit around me I close my eyes focusing on finding my love. Then I heard her, "From myself, I draw on love, peace and tranquility, the kind I know that only comes from Spirit!" Suddenly I open my eyes crying at the sound of her voice. I close my eyes again as I try apologizing until I suddenly feel myself lifted. My eyes fly open to find I'm staring at my love, my mate. "Hi" we both say together. No other words need to be spoken as we embrace each other kissing each other as our tongues fight for dominance. When we pull back I stare at her. "You're glowing... Not your normal glow and so are your eyes." I tell her and she nods. "I need you to mate and mark me... Like here and now." I look at her kissing her. Softly I whisper, "Are you sure and how does this work?" "I'm sure, the elements have separated us from our bodies so to speak but it'll work. Also I need you to do this, if not for me.." She trails off as she places my hands on her stomach. Being a little slow I just stare at it until Sebastian says, -My Pups?!?!- I growl at him before looking at her with fresh tears. "You're pregnant?" She nods before kissing me roughly as she removes my clothes. "We don't have much time, I'm already pulling out all my energy here." I nod nuzzling her neck as I kiss her neck finding her marking spot. Finally I slide into her wet folds and she sighs softly. Before long I'm close and I feel my canines extend. She leans into my neck her teeth brushing my marking spot causing me to moan in response. -Now! And don't let go until I tell you to- Sebastian screams in my head as me and Kai bite each other at the same time. I growl in the bite as I released hard inside her and she shakes groaning as she cums. I feel her bite down hard as she continues shaking and hold her close as Sebastian blocks me out. I suddenly feel her fever spiked and I go to let go when Sebastian forces me to bite her harder. -Do not let go! It's a simple request.- I growl at him as she suddenly goes still. -reach out to her, I'm trying to talk to her wolf, they are both stubborn- I roll my eyes at him as I mind-link Kaila. -Kai baby, can you hear me-

-hang on... My head's trying to split open but do not let go yet.- she whimpers as she replies. After a while I really get nervous until I hear Sebastian. -let go now. She needs to shift.- I slowly let go as I feel her lick my mark and I lick hers just before she stumbles backwards.
