Chapter Eleven

Lucius's POV

Off and on the whole time Kai was getting dress, she kept rubbing her temples. So I was not surprised when she gasped and leaned into me for support. Mike raised his eyebrows looking at us in the backseat. After last time he wasn't taking chances. "She okay alpha?" I nodded as she gasp again, her eyes fluttering before rolling back in her head. "She'll be okay." After a few minutes she groans and her eyes open before she closes them back. I rub my hand across her cheek and she leans up kissing me. Before long we're nearing the office and she sits up digging through her purse. I hear her growl slightly as she puts on a bracelet. The effect of the bracelet is instant as her wings suddenly disappear and her body seems to change slightly. "Whoa, Kai?" She was panting as she shook her head. About thirty seconds later, she looks up at me and kisses my nose sending sparks through me. "I'm good baby, just too many humans around and I'm not trying to be the talk of the city." I make a note to ask her more about the bracelet. As we enter the office I nod to Stanley. "Good morning Lucius and Mrs. Smalls." I go to correct him as she smiles and kisses me to shut me up. Mike follows behind us and they share a nod. As I approach the front desk I nod to Elizabeth who has replaced Maya. Unlike Maya, Elizabeth had my paperwork ready and in hand as I approach her. "Good morning Elizabeth." I greet her. "Good morning, Mr. Smalls. You father has requested to see you." Then she turns to Kai pulling out a visitors' badge. "Good morning, ma'am. May I have you name?" "Kaila Smalls." She says with a smile. I kiss her forehead realizing she is staking her claim on me. I mutter near her ear, "No worries babe, she's cute but happily gay." Elizabeth hands her the badge, "you two have a wonderful day." She also hands one to Mike who nods in greeting. I nod and we enter the elevator and I head to my dad's floor first. A client leaves his office fussing the entire time. He bumps hard into Kaila because he wasn't paying attention and I growl at him, "Watch where the f**k you're going!" He rolls his eyes and punched the elevator button. I wrap an arm around Kai and led her into my dad's office. Mike chooses to stand guard outside the door. "Yea dad?" I ask as I plop down on a chair across the desk from him. I see him blink a few times staring at Kai. "Kai?" "Hey." She laughs and he relaxes hearing her familiar laugh.

I chat with my dad about a few clients and inform him of the one who bumped Kai. After a while we head down to my office. She settles into my sofa and I get to work. About an hour later, Elizabeth informs me of clients coming up. I buzzed them up and look over at Kai. She looks so sexy in her pant suit and I find myself thinking of bending her over desk. A knock interrupts my thoughts as my clients walk in. As we're discussing permits, they try to argue my skills and threaten to take their business elsewhere. "Fine, go somewhere else then!" I yell ripping up the contract. I kick them out my office and Kai is on my lap, calming me. "Babe?" She asks nuzzling into my neck. "I'm good." I reply kissing her forehead. It wasn't an important contract thankfully. I kiss her gently before she goes back to my sofa. As I work I glance over at her a few times and see her pull out a sketchbook. About three hours later, I see her yawn yet again and shut my computer down. I walk over to her and am floored as I see her drawings. "Wow, that's amazing." I say seeing a picture of me working with the city life behind me. She smiles and shyly looks at the floor. I kiss her gently, "how about we get out of here?" She nods and before long we've in the car heading back home.

Kaila's POV

I was glad to call it a day, office life had never been for me and having suppressed my magic, I was ready to go. As we neared pack lands, I giggle as I glance at Luke. He looks at me, "What's on your mind, baby?" "How about I race Sebastian back to the house?" He tilts his head. "You want to race my wolf?" I see him and Sebastian talking. As he looks at me again I nod. "I need to stretch my wings." I say shrugging. "You're on!" As soon as we entered pack lands, Mike stops the car to let us out. I nod and let him shift into Sebastian and gather his clothes. Then I pop the bracelet open and hiss as my magic is released. I hadn't even noticed I'd dropped to my knees until I feel Sebastian nuzzling me. I drop the bracelet back in my bag as my wings stretch. "I'm good baby. Are you ready?" I assure him as my wings lift me off the ground. He takes off and I laugh flying after him. I push myself faster as the wind catches me and I see the wolves below me watching us. I even fly in circles giving him a lead before landing in front of the pack house minutes before him. I enter the pack house moments later to Mike checking on me. "I'm good Mike, I wasn't in danger." I hear laughing and enter the living room to find Cameron and the guys with their moms and Keisha huddled around a window. Luke's mom, Claire runs over to me, "he's not going to be happy!" She warns me. Ten seconds later the door to the pack house slams and I take off. "KAILA!!!!" I hear him yell through the house. I'm still laughing when he finally enters our room. He grabs me tossing me on the bed playfully as we wrestle. Finally I'm gasping for air from laughing so hard and he's panting. "Dammit Kai! That wasn't a fair race." I roll over and sit up. "Sorry, I needed to fly for a minute and I thought it would be fun." I apologized but am not sorry. Finally he sits up looking at me, "What does the bracelet do?" I sigh, "It suppresses my magic so it's not noticeable. I can access it but my aura is masked and it literally makes me appear more human. My parents had it made for me when I was younger, it helps make public appearances less awkward. The down side is once I take it off, my magic fills me at one time and I feel compelled to fly to relax again." I kiss him passionately. "Never stop being you baby." He whispers against my lips.

I shiver in delight as I deepen the kiss. He pulls back and looks at me with eyes black with lust. I push myself off the bed and slowly begin to undress teasing him as I remove my suit. He stands up growling softly as he walks over to me. Next thing I know I'm pressed against the wall and he's grinding against me. I moan kissing his neck trying to leave hickeys of my own. I wrap my legs around his waist as he carries me to the bed. I groan arching my back as he works his way down my body towards my dripping core. I push his head down as I lift my hips but he is determined to torture me as he kisses and bite my breast, legs even worshipping my feet. "Luke please!" I beg and hear him laughing. "Patience baby," he says kissing my lips as his fingers finally slip into my p***y. I arch my back again groaning softly. "More Luke!" I gasp out grinding against his fingers. He slowly makes his way down and I know I'm going to be covered in bites tomorrow but I don't care. I really stop caring when his tongue starts licking my core. I cry out as I c*m several times before he leans back and grabs a condom. "This is going to be fast and quick." He apologizes as he kisses my neck as he slams into me. No matter how much we do this, I never get used to his size. I moan as he places my legs over his shoulders. "Don't move." He says through gritted teeth. I look in his eyes and find them filled with so much love I begin to cry. "s**t, Kai!" He pauses wiping my tears. "I'm okay. I love you too." I whisper lifting my hip slightly. That ignites a passionate kiss as he pounds into me before taking me over the edge with him. I hear him yell out in pleasure as he empties himself into the condom and I scream out his name before blacking out smiling.

Lucius's POV

I look down at my lovely mate and see her passed out. I smiled kissing her softly. "I love you too." I whisper and she moans softly. I gently removes her legs as I slip out of her. At the office, I realize I wanted her to be more than just my mate, but her telling me she loved me, I knew it was time. I needed to make her my wife and Luna officially. I take a shower and as I'm getting dressed, I start to put together a plan. After making sure she was sleeping comfortably, I go to find my parents.

I cut the mind link and run to their room. The door flies open before I can knock and I'm faced with two worried parents. "Mom dad, everything is fine. I need to talk to you though." They let me in and stare at me for a second before my mom smiles. "I want to make Kaila my wife, I was trying to find her parents first but no one knows where they are. Would I be wrong? I love that girl, with every fiber of my being and this isn't the mate bond talking." My mom is crying as she hugs me, "Have you talked to her about this?" I shake my head, "Not yet but I will." Then my mom and dad share a look as mom takes off one of her wedding bands. "This has been passed down from my great granddad to my granddad and my dad and to me... If you want we're ready to pass it to you." My dad says. I'd always admired it when I was younger. "I don't know." My dad laughs, "Son I had it customize before I gave it to your mom when I proposed and had a better one fashioned for the wedding band." I smile at that. "Thanks for the advice!" He laughs, "You are going to try to outdo me on that band aren't you?!" I just shrug before hugging both of them tightly. "I love you guys." Then I go find Keisha and Frank. When I tell them they are excited to help and before I know it, Keisha, her mom, Angie, my mom, Cameron's mom, Kelly, and Frank's mom, Delilah are piles in my office. I'd checked on Kai to find her still sleeping peacefully before I walked into an office full of women. "Um hey everyone." I say scared for my life. I may be an Alpha but a bunch of female's ganged together would make any man run. My mom laughs and says, "We not here to kill you, we're here for Kaila." "Yup, have to make sure you do my girl right." I turn surprised to see Tanya on video. "How?" "Your dad called mine." She laughs.

I shake my head and the ladies help me prepare the perfect proposal for my mate and I'm excited to finally make her mine. Two hours later, they finally begin leaving my office until it's just me and Tanya. "Look, Lucius, I know you wanted to wait till we find her parents. I didn't want to bring this us with everyone here but I know that my mom is alive, my dad can still feel their bond. So we need to find them soon, I think my Alpha ceremony will draw my brother out of hiding. James agrees with me but he's worried because you are coming and Kai isn't going to want to be left behind. If you try, she'll just teleport here." I nod in agreement. "So what do we do?" James walks in to the camera. "Mark her." I look at him. "Wouldn't that be dangerous?" He shakes his head, "With her birthday coming up soon, I think it's the right time. You don't want to wait another five years." He says laughing. "He's right!" I look up surprised to hear Kai walk in. "Did you have a nice nap?" I ask smirking. She walks over and I see her limping which wipes the smirk off my face. "I did baby." She leans over kissing me. "By the way Alpha Tanya, congrats on picking a day." "I'm not Alpha yet and I haven't set a date yet." Tanya says confused. "Well pick one, now, right after my birthday." James looks at her, "What do you know?" "I know that my parents and Aunt Sam are not going to miss your ceremony. Plus Mitchell is waiting on you to make his next move." We all stare at Kai. "Are you sure, love?" I ask as she places a hand on my cheek. I close my eyes as the images play in my head. I growl out loud as I see Mitchell grabbing Kai and suddenly the connection is broken. I look at Kai whose crying. "What happened after that?" I ask her gently. She shakes her head, "I can't talk about it yet but it was definitely not pretty." James cuts in, "Sis how long ago did you see this?" She shrugs, "Sometime this morning, we were on our way to the office. I tried not to think too much into it, but I had bad dreams about it." "So it's bad." He says and she nods before looking up at me. "You have to mark me the night of my birthday. The full moon will only amplify my powers and I'm ready. I don't know why I feel so sure, but with you by my side I can do this for me, us, and my pack. This pack deserves a strong Luna and after spending time with your mom, I know I'm ready." With that she limps out of my office and I'm left speechless. "Looks like me and my dad need to start planning my Alpha ceremony. I'll let you know the date, Luke." Tanya says breaking the silence before she leaves. "Lucius, to be safe, do it somewhere where you can get her outside quickly. She's going to need to shift soon as her wolf wakes." I nod as he ends the call.

Kaila's POV

After letting Luke know my decision, I walk into my sanctuary and I find the element stones. I arrange them on the floor in a circle feeling confident. I wouldn't do a full circle, I wasn't strong enough for that but I knew and trust spirit. As I kneel on the floor I pray to the goddesses that this works and I take a breath as I pick up the spirit stone. "Spirit, if you can hear me, please come to me." My eyes widen as I feel spirit fill me as I look and see the other four stones glowing. I nod to myself, "I can do this." I close my eyes and focus, "I don't know what I'm doing here." "You don't have to know, you just have to feel." My eyes fly open as I see Sabrina and Helena. I look around and realize I'm no longer in the pack house. Instead I'm in a dark room and they are the only thing I can see. I look at them. "What do you mean?" "Just what we said, feel your magic, you followed your instincts to call on spirit. You made the decision to be marked, so stop second guessing yourself. You are stronger than the fear that you let consume you. If you don't, you'll lose everything." Helena says. "Those pups you see when you dream, you can have that, we'll help protect them, you have to want it." I feel my magic growing as I think about my future. "I want my mate, my pack, my kids, my future." Then I shake my head, "no, I don't want it, I deserve it!" With that I'm back in the pack house and the goddesses are gone. I blink away the spots as I see myself floating above my circle glowing brighter than ever. I feel all the elements flowing around me but I'm not overwhelmed or scared. My wings are flapping hard against the wind and I know I'm in control fully. I land and am startled by sparks touching my hand. "Luke?" I say looking at him. He nods and looks at me, "You are amazing." "That she is!" I jump as I recognize Celeste's voice and I finally lower the glow around me to see Astral and Abigail as well. I calm the magic around me and look at them. "July 8th. You have five days, I'm being marked. I don't care what it takes." Astral throws the others a look. "I told you." I close my eyes and focus on spirit. "Thank you spirit. You may leave now." I hear the stones around me and Luke hit the floor as I feel all five elements leave. I open my eyes to find James staring at me. "You did all that through spirit." I nodded, "why are you here?" "I was called just now." He explains. "She gave us a date, we may need you." Celeste says shrugging. "I knew that already. She decided a date four hours ago." They look at James then at me. "You knew before you called us?" Abigail said shocked. "I don't remember calling you at all. James are you telling me I've been out four hours?!?" Luke kisses my forehead, "I walked in about thirty minutes ago, they were already here. You were in full control so we all just waited." I nod. "Well you have my decision, I have a pack to get to."

Lucius's POV

After James and I ended our call, I went to see Dr. Jenkins. "Alpha, can I help you?" She asks as I enter her office. "I need to mark Kaila but I want to do it here, I need her safe." She nods, "You want to wake her wolf." I shake my head, "No, she wants to. I've waited for her to come to me." Then Dr. Jenkins looked at me seriously. "Is your mate on the magic side of angels, or a low level non magic angel?" "I didn't know angels could be non magic." My eyes wide as I realize I know almost nothing about angels. "It's ok alpha, most people don't know enough about them. As I doctor, I'm trained in human and supernatural. Seeing your reaction, I'm assuming she's powerful. I need to know, is she in control or is there a chance she could harm someone with this change." I look at her steady, "I know you only ask to minimize any risk, but as your alpha I don't like the tone in which you speak of your Luna!" She bows, "I understand Alpha." I nod, "Like I said, she came to me, so she feels ready and in control and I'm going to respect her as well as support her." She nods, "Can you tell me when you want to do this?" "In five days. July 8th is her birthday and she wants to do this on the full moon." With that I get up to walk out, “Alpha, I'll have a room close to the back entrance, so when she's ready you can get her out safely." I nod and go to find my mate. As I enter the pack house, Sebastian starts going to crazy in my head.

That's all I need to hear as I run in calling for Kai. I run into our room when Sebastian says

-i***t, she's not in trouble, but I can feel her wolf, she's ready.-

I grumble at him as I feel a surge of power coming from across the hall. I open the door of Kai's sanctuary and see Astral, Celeste, and Abigail staring at a ball of silver energy. "Why are you here and what is that?" I say pointing to the ball. Astral shakes his head, "Now that is something I've never seen before. She's going to be fine, Alpha." I blink as my eyes catch up to my brain, "That's Kaila?!?" He nods, "She's controlling her own magic, she's figured out how to feel the elements without being overwhelmed by them." Celeste nods, "She doesn't need to be circled, she's ready, if she can accept it." Abigail says, "She is going to have a aura to battle ours after she reaches full power. She really is a high level angel." I'm lost as I stare at her. Slowly the ball of energy moves and I see her wings as she lands. I can't take it anymore as I run to her, grabbing her hand. "Luke?" She whispers. "You are amazing."

After we leave the room, she leans into me and I kiss her. "You. Are. Amazing." She kisses me back. "I had a pep talk with some goddesses. Now food and blood, then we need to make arrangements so you can mark me in five days." I laugh as we enter the kitchen. I place her on a stool at the island as Keisha walks in. "Girl, I know that was you, the whole house felt a burst of magic about two hours ago and I couldn't find you anywhere." Kai looks at her then at me, "What is she talking about?" I smack my head on my head, "That's what Sebastian was going on about?!?" Kai looked at me, "What are you talking about?" I place a sandwich in front of her with some strawberries and kiwi slices. "Apparently, your Luna aura is becoming strong. He felt your wolf's presence." She looks at the food before pushing it away. "Girl, I'd hate to be an enemy." Keisha says as Kai looks at her. "Um, Luke, why are her eyes red like that?" Keisha asked looking at Kai, curiously. "Is she okay?" "I'm okay, Keisha." Kai smiles at her as she gets up. "I'm going upstairs to lay down." I come around the island and whisper in her ear, "Why didn't you say anything?" I take her upstairs to our room. She drops on my sofa rubbing her face as I go over to my mini fridge. I hand her the last two bags kicking myself for not bringing her here first. "Luke?" I look up to see Keisha, Frank, and my mom. "Ummm, I can explain." My mom shakes her head at me, "We'll discuss this later." She pushes me out the way as she cradles Kai and rubs her back. "Keisha, did you bring the food up?" My mom is in take charge mode and I know better than to argue. "Yes ma'am." She holds up a Tupperware dish. She takes it and hands it to me. "Keisha, go back downstairs. Frank, go to Dr. Jenkins. I've already let her know you're on the way." Then she looks at me, "You didn't have to hide this from your ranked members. The rest of the pack, this side of her, they don't need to see. It's your pack members, the ones who are there with you, and Mike, her bodyguard! If there are things she needs, as ranked members, they should know. She's their Luna." I look at her and realize she's right. I hear Kai groan and my mom whisper to her, "It's okay sweet girl, I've got you." Her eyes cloud over as Kai begins to pull away from her. "Shit." I mutter knowing this is my fault. "Hush, son. She's fine." I sink down on the bed just as Frank runs in and hands her a bag. She pulls it open and hand Kai two more bags of blood. Frank comes over and smacks me upside my head. "HEY!!!" "Do you realize how freaked out Keisha was watching you half drag Kai up here?!? She thought Kai was dying or something. My mate is pregnant stressing her out like that isn't good!!!" He screams at me. "Hey, lay off my mate, I didn't want anyone knowing either. I didn't even realize it until it was already too late to stop Keisha from seeing." Kai says causing Frank to stop yelling. Frank looks at her and says, "As long as you are okay, none of us care, we can't keep you safe if we don't know. How can we protect our Luna if she shuts us out?" She nods, "You're right." She drains another bag. "Are you feeling better?" She blinks and mom says, "She needs to eat." I bring the Tupperware dish over and she eats the fruit but hands me the sandwich. "You should eat too. Besides if I eat that, I'm just going bring it back up." I frown at her as my mom shakes her head, "I'm going to have to teach my son better. Come, I'll cook you something." I look lost as my mom and mate walk out.

-That sandwich isn't going to do anything for her, treat this as you would a hangover.-

I shake me head laughing as Frank and I head downstairs.
