When the ice melts

Chapter 11

Dušica's P.O.V.

I came home, took a quick shower and lay on the bed. I swear I fall asleep immediately when my head touched the pillow.

After, what looks like a few minutes to me, grandpa's voice was heard.

"Come on honey, wake up"

I was so tired, I couldn't even open my eyes.

"It's too early" I mumbled which made him chuckle.

"It is, but we need to go to get up. It's a big day for you!"

"Fine," I said and got up. He kissed my cheek and left me alone to do my business.

I finished with the bathroom, dressed something casual and walked out. I took the phone and saw it is 6 am.

Sometimes I really wonder if he is normal.

I went down and saw him reading newspaper.

"Oh, finally you are here," he said and got up. "Let's go"

Together we walked out of the mansion and the car has already waited for us. We got in and I could feel my eyes closing again.

"How far is it?" I asked tiredly.

"For about thirty minutes driving," he said.

We were talking about school, business, friends, volleyball and other things when we came in front of the biggest gate I have ever seen. It has DN engraved on it.

"Wow" was all I could say.

Guys who worked here saluted us and

opened gate.

"Grandpa, didn't I tell you I want a small house. Not mansion or something like this"

"I had two years to make something my princess will like. You really thought I was going to build something small?"

"But, isn't it sad that I am going to live completely alone in this big mansion?"

"Maids are going to live there, and you can ask Mia to live with you as well" maybe it would be good living with my best friend.

Since the gate opened we were driving for about five minutes before I saw building you can only dream about. It looked like a castle. Like one where princess lives in all fairytale. I was looking at it in awe. I couldn't believe this is going to be my home from now on. It was very modern and I adored it.

"You like it?" He asked.

I just nodded, not being able to put all this in words.

"Oh, by the way, I bring all your babies here," he said and I looked at him with wide eyes.

"You did not!"

"I so did! Do you know that just in your cars is over 50 million."

"I am well aware of that grandpa, but you know how much I love them," I said with a smirk. He smiled and finally parked the car in from of the building. Seven girls were waiting outside and next to them was fifteen men. They were bodyguards and drivers I guess.

Our driver went out and opened the door for us.

"My dear girl, welcome at Dušica's empire!"

Everyone smiled at me.

"Say what?" I was so lost.

"I didn't know should it be Dušica's oasis or empire so you can pick." He said simply shrugging his shoulders.

Everyone laughed, I met all of the staff and they seem pretty cool. The oldest girl has thirty years and the youngest has twenty-two. The oldest man is forty and the youngest one was thirty years old.

After meeting them grandpa decided to give me a tour in and outside of the building.

"How many bedrooms are there?" I asked.

"Ten" he answered simply.

"What? Why so many oh god!?"

"You will have friends here," he said in a duh tone.

When we finished our tour he sent me to 'fancy' room.

"Here will make up artists, stylists wait for you every time before you show up at television and paparazzi. Same will be today after you come with Mia." I just nodded. "By the way, no one of us knows what you are going to wear!" He said with a pout. I couldn't help but laugh.

"Sorry grandpa you will see it tonight"

"Okay, okay all your clothes are in your room. Actually, all your stuff is here. Anyway I need to go now" he said and we bid our goodbye's.

I turned around and looked at this hell of a building. I really couldn't believe I am going to live here. Wow.

Sam's P.O.V.

We decided to sleep at Mia's last night. We all were in one room even if she has five of them. I was enjoying my sleep when Mia started yelling.

"Rise and shine beautiful people, we have school to attend today! Come on!"

Damn, this girl knows how to yell. We all wake up immediately.

"Let's just skip today," said Anna ad put pillow over her head.

"Oh no no," said Mia while opening windows. She started clapping her hands and jumping on the bed next to me.

"Come on guys, don't be so lazy."

"I don't even have to go today," I said and turned around

"If we are going, you are going too, so get up!" Everyone was up already so I had to get up as well.

Mia offered us to take her clothes but we all decline and went home.

When I get home, mom and dad were having breakfast.

"Good morning," I said and kissed their cheeks then sat next to them.

"Where have you been baby girl?" Asked my dad.

"Mia had a welcoming party for her friend last night so we just slept there"

"Oh nice"

"By the way, are you ready for tonight?" Asked mom.

"Yeah, I picked tux. I am so tired of dresses."

"It's okay honey, you can wear whatever you want. I am so excited to finally meet heir of most influence family" said mom, her voice was showing how excited she really is.

I just rolled my eyes and excused myself so I can go and get ready for school. I walked upstairs and went in my room. I needed to take a shower, I had feeling that I smell like alcohol and weed.

I finished my job in the toilet and dressed up for school. I took my bag and went out. I decide on driving Range Rover today. I climbed in and start driving towards school.

When I come, I was already late so I didn't bother to go to the first class which is stupid math.

I was walking around empty hallways looking around.

When the first period finished, Mia met me in front of the next classroom.

"Were you first period?" She asked.

"Home, showering" I answered simply and walked in.

"Mia, that was the best party ever!" Someone shouted when we walked in. She smiled and nodded. We sit at our usual place in the back row. Then some girl who is on the volleyball team, her name is Kendall, I think, came to us.

"Hey Mia," she said.

"Hey, Kenny, what's up?''

"Not much, just wanted to ask about Dušica." I felt my body tense at the sound of her name.

"Yeah, what about her?"

"Is she single?" She asked with a lot of hope if I may add.

I had to admit, she looks really nice. With long blue hair and brown eyes. I just thought about how she is going to be Dušica's teammate and jealousy took over me.

Mia laughed "Yes, she is but she is straight"

"Oh honey, even pasta is straight until it gets wet," she said that and winked then turn around ad left.

"b***h" I mumbled under my breath. Mia looked at me but didn't have time to question anything because Ms. Smith walked in and started her lesson.

Time passed quickly and it was lunchtime already. I walked into the cafeteria with Mia by my side. We took food and sat at our table. Mia hugged Tom and he kissed her. They were IT couple in our school.

People except me and Jon dating but I would never date him.

We still waited for Anna and Elena to come.

I saw them coming our way and Anna has a big smile on her face.

"Guys, I can't wait for tonight!" I couldn't help but smile. Every year they would watch it together just because of me, so they can support me.

"Yeah, me too! Sam, what are you going to wear?" Asked Emili excited.

"You'll see tonight," I said and winked at her. She pouted like a little kid but didn't say anything.

"Imagine how lucky that guy is!" Said Jon. Mia almost choked at her drink.

Tom tap her beck and Elena laughed like crazy. Mia looked at her and they both laughed again.

"Yeah, I hope he is hot," said Elena and they laughed again.

"I bet he is!" Mia said laughing and they high five each other. We looked at them clearly confused.

"What's going on with you two?" I asked.

"Nothing, you'll see tonight anyway" Mia shrugged.

We ignored it because Emili started talking again "I hope he will post something on i********:. I mean I have been following him since he made it, which is two months ago, and he has 40 million followers and of course, he has never posted any personal picture of him. Just daily quotes."

Yeah, that's true. I have been following him as well. We don't even know his first name, because even of the social network he has only last name. Also, he posts quotes every day. Really inspiring, if I may add. I just adore reading it.

"I don't know why you all think it's a guy!" Said Anna "What if that is one hell of a girl?"

"Exactly," said Mia and El in unison.

Well, to be honest, that has crossed my mind before, but I didn't really give it a second thought.

"I would date her," said Jon in his matter-of-fact tone and we all rolled our eyes.

"Anyway, guys when will you be at my place?" Asked Anna. This year she is hosting them. Last year it was El and year before Tom.

"Well, Gala starts at 8 tonight, if I am not wrong," said Mia and looked at me and I just nodded "So we will be there at 7 probably"

"That's great, it's just bad

"Dušica couldn't make it though," said Anna.

"Why isn't she coming though?" Asked Jon.

"She has some party to attend," said Anna and shrugged.

"By the way, Jon you really should apologize to her"

"Why would he need to apologize to her anyway?" Asked Mia while frowning

"He kissed her forcefully," I said.

"You did what!?" She and Elena yelled at Jon.

We all were shocked, I looked at each at them and noticed how their facial expressions changed, their faces went pale when they heard what I said.

"Wow, chill girls. I just kissed her, she pulled back and slapped me. That's all." He said almost in a whisper but we all heard him. Anna couldn't help herself, she needed to laugh. We all know no one has ever rejected Jon. She stopped laughing when he started glaring at her.

"I can't believe you actually did that," said Mia and put her head in her hands.

"You will be lucky if she ever talks to you again" Said Elena while shaking her head.

"What are you talking about, it was just a kiss. Anyway everyone in here is dying to kiss this lips" said Jon and motioned at his lips, I saw Anna rolling her eyes which made me smile.

Mia ignored him when she looked at Elena.

"Wait, you know?" she asked kinda shocked.

Because Tom was sitting in the middle of these two, Mia leaned on the table so she can look better at El.

"Yeah, I do" answered Elena and looked down while playing with her fork.

"Wow, I didn't know that she has told anyone." there was an uncomfortable silence for few minutes when she started talking again "Do you know I still blame myself for it?"

Mia's eyes were full of tears.

"What are you talking about?" Asked Anna obviously worried.

They ignored us as El get up and sat next to Mia hugging her.

"You can't blame yourself, it happened and you couldn't fly back there"

"But I left just a week before it"

"Shh, it's okay. I'm sure she is not blaming you. Let's go to the restroom" she said and Mia nodded then they got up.

Before they left Mia turned around "You really should apologize Jon" Elena was nodding her head.

"Okay, I will" he answered still shocked.

"What was that all about?" Asked Tom, he has worry written all over his face.

"I don't know," I said still trying to put my fingers on it, but fail every time.

All I know is that something really bad happened to Dušica and somehow I wanted to know what. But she always looked so cheerful and happy, no one would ever think something bad is happening to her.

Bell rung dismissing us to our next class, I went there and saw Mia already sitting at the back row. I walked over there, honestly worried about her. Kids started coming in and I sit beside her while she was staring in nothing in practical.

"Are you okay?" I asked my voice almost like a whisper. I don't know why I said that so softly but she heard me anyway.

She turned around to face me and smiled "Yeah, I am fine now. Thank you"

I smiled back when the teacher came in and start teaching something I don't care about.

At the end of the school day, Mia was just fine, happy and cheerfully like always. Other girls joined us in the corridor while boys waited outside.

I noticed that Anna was still so excited which made me smile. We walked out and Mia kissed Tom.

I liked the relationship between those two. They are like soul mates, never have they ever fight or anything like that. I like to see them happy.

At that moment we heard the sound of some sports car and we all looked at the gate. Wow, how beautiful this car was. It was red with some black parts. I was in awe with my mouth wide open, just like everyone else. Music in the car was Worth it' by the Fifth harmony.

Car stopped not far from us, engine and music turned down. The door opened revealing Dušica. Seriously, how many cars does this girl have? But let just stop talking about the car, when she climbed out, my heart almost stopped. She looked so casual but absolutely fabulous. She was wearing denim ripped jeans and black Adidas shirt. Black sneakers, black cap, and sunglasses.

She took off her sunglasses and closed the door. She turned towards us and smiled. It started to get windy and her hair was all over her face while she was trying to put it in place. She looked so cute I have to admit.

At once Mia ran to her and hugged her tightly, putting her head in the crook of her neck. Dušica was a little shocked but soon hugged her back.

"Hey, what's wrong?" She asked worriedly.

Mia just shook her head not pulling away and Dušica looked at us clearly confused mouthing words 'what happened' we all just shrugged. She looked down at her best friend and pulled away. Mia was staring at her feet so Dušica took her chin between two of her fingers and pulled it up so she can look her in the eyes.

"Tell me what happened," she said softly.

I loved the way she talked to people who were close to her. I loved the way she cared about them. How she cared about everyone.

"Let's talk about it later okay?" Asked Mia.

"Okay" she nodded "But now give me that beautiful smile of yours"

Like on cue Mia smiled widely. She hugged her once again and mumbled one "I love you"

Dušica kissed the top of her head and smiled at her "I love you too"

They walked towards us and she literally didn't get a chance to say 'hi' before Jon interrupted.

"I need to talk to you"

I saw she was confused by look at her face but answered anyway "Okay, what's up?"

"I just want to say that I am really sorry for what happened last night. I know I shouldn't have done that" he was looking down at his feet. Wow, I have never seen him like this. For a moment I thought he was really liking her but then remember that he is just a player and he would use her like any other girl.

"It's okay, I have already forgotten it." She said simply and shrugged.

He looked up. I saw something in his eyes that looks like hurt? "Wow, do I really kiss that bad?"

"Well, honestly it was something I just wanted to forget"

We all laughed but she didn't. I was studying her beautiful face, not finding any flaw in it.

"Uh guys, I have to go. I see you tonight" he said and waved to us then left to his car.

At that moment Elena comes to Dušica and wrapped her arms around her neck. She smiled down at Elena and kissed her nose which made Elena giggle.

Dušica was just an inch taller than her, but the same height as me. I was wondering how would it be to be hugged by her.

"Sam are you okay?" Her sweet voice woke me up from my daydreaming.

I looked up at her and saw that beautiful smile of hers and forest green eyes in which I get lost again.

"Huh?" Was all I was capable of saying. They all laughed and shook their heads. What happened?

"How's the house your grandpa made for you?" Mia suddenly asked.

"He made a huge house. I literally freaked out, because you know I wanted something small and not the castle for princess in which I am going to live alone." She said and sighed and rolled her eyes.

Mia laughed like crazy but stopped when Dušica glared at her which made us all laugh.

"Anyway, he came with one great idea," she said with a devilish smile.

"What's that"

"You to come to live with me!"

"What?" Mia was obviously shocked like all of us.

"Come on, please please please!" She had the cutest pout I have ever seen, which made my heart melt.

"You know I would love to, but I have to talk to my parents"

Dušica rolled her eyes and said "Them leave to me, you know they can't resist me"

"I know, and that's really really scary," said Mia and Dušica pushed her playfully.

"You are not cool!" She played like she was hurt. Aww, why she have to be so cute?

At that moment someone run out of school "Dušica!'' We all turned our heads and saw Kendall coming our way.

She came and kissed Dušica at her cheek which took her out of guard but she let her anyway. Jealousy is rising in me again.

"Umm, hey Kendall, what's up?" She asked when she finally pulled away. Wow, she remembers her name?

"I just wanted to say that party last night was amazing"

"Well, you should say that to them" Dušica motioned at us with a big smile.

"Yeah, and when you start playing like DJ I was amazed. You are incredible!" She said that in a very very flirty way. I couldn't help but roll my eyes.

"Umm... Well, thank you" it was obvious she was uncomfortable but didn't say anything.

"I was thinking about something," said Kendall.

Dušica looked at her with 'go on' expression.

"If you ever want to play again, or if you ever have problem with money, you should give me a call so you can play at some of my parties." she pulled out some piece of paper with, what I assume was her number on it, and gave it to Dušica.

Mia and Elena looked at each other and burst out laughing. Dušica glared at them, but by her expression, I saw she was trying way too hard not to laugh as well.

"Girls please," she said and both of them calmed down. It was really funny how she knew how to calm them.

Kendall was confused but no one paid attention.

"Thank you, Kendall, it is very kind of you," she said cutely.

"It's Kenny for you" she said and kissed Dušica's cheek again and left us there.

Mia and Elena looked at each other and laughed again.

"If... you... have a problem... with money," said Mia between laughing hysterically. She started holding her stomach and she literally looked like an i***t right now. Elena was nothing better.

Dušica laughed a little as well before saying "Girls, don't be mean"

She took Mia by her shoulders and turned her around then pushing her towards her car. Mia was still laughing while the other girl was walking behind her, her hands still on Mia's shoulders pushing her gently.

"I have so many things to do today, we need to go," she said and opened the door for Mia which was so cute. She closed the door when Mia climbed in and turned to us laughing lightly "See you tomorrow girls" she said and smiled then climbed inside her car and drove away.

"Damn, she is so hot! I can't wait for tomorrow'' said Anna still looking at the school gate. I rolled my eyes at her comment.

"Anyway, girls I have to go as well. See you tomorrow at first practice." I waved at them and went to my car. I heard them groan which made me laugh. We have practice at 8 am tomorrow morning, which is really early if you ask me but it's okay. I got in the car and start driving home, I have so many things to do for tonight but no one of this was in my mind.

Blue piercing eyes, black long hair, toned long legs, most beautiful smile. She occupied my whole mind, and honestly, I can't wait to spend the weekend with her. I drove with a big smile placed on my face. What's happening to me? I have never felt like this before...
