--- THE BILLIONAIRE'S DEBT MAID By Esther Ogechi Pen CHAPTER 3: SHE CAME BACK The next morning, Chuks was at Shoprite supermarket to buy some drinks. As he was pushing his trolley, he saw Sandra. She was wearing a short red gown, with big sunglasses, picking wines from the shelf. Chuks stopped. He dragged her outside to have a talk. "Sandra!" he called. Sandra removed her glasses. "Chuks? What are you doing here?" Chuks said, "What are YOU doing here? Go and meet your man. What are you expecting? You left Jason's house that night without saying anything." She said, "When I was leaving, did he beg me? No. So why now? See, I know Jason, he will come looking for me, begging me. He cannot live without me." Chuks said, "Wow, you think he will do that? See, if you love that man, then go and see him and apologize for everything you did to that poor maid." She said, "Meaning I, Sandra, to go and beg Jason and that useless debt maid? You must be mad. See you, Jason and the maid, you guys are mad. Nonsense. Jason has not realized what he is losing." Chuks said, "You lack home training," and walked out. She hissed and went back inside. EVENING - SHE CAME BACK That evening, Chioma was in her room folding her red gown. She heard a car enter. Sandra's red car. When she came inside the house, she saw Jason on the living room watching movies. Then she entered. They exchanged eye contact and Sandra hissed and went inside with her box. Jason did not say a word. Later in the evening, Sandra wore her night wear dress and came to the living where Chioma and Jason were sitting in different chairs watching a movie. She walked in, wanting them to notice her presence. She collected the TV remote and changed the movie they were enjoying. Both of them turned to look at her, surprised. Then the boss stood up, collected the remote and changed the movie back to what they were watching. Then Sandra got angry, collected the remote and changed the movie again. Chioma was tired of the drama and went to bed. Jason got angry and said, "What is your problem? What is the meaning of this nonsense? Are you okay??" Sandra cut him off and said, "Why will I be okay? You didn't come to beg me! You didn't even welcome me back when I came back! All you do is to watch movies! Ooo is that? Take, eat the remote!" "Stupid woman!" Jason shouted. "Yes, I will eat the remote, useless man!" Sandra yelled. Jason went upstairs to bed to sleep. Sandra went upstairs too. She got to the bed and tried touching Jason but Jason removed her hand and turned to the other side of the bed, backing Sandra. Sandra was angry and tried dragging the duvet. Jason left the duvet for her and slept off. THE NEXT DAY The next day Sandra went out to cool off. Jason has gone to work. Chioma's friend visited her. She offered her a chair in the living room and they were discussing. "My sister, see how you are shining! Gist me na, how have you been coping in this man's house?" the girl said. "My sister, it has not been easy," Chioma said. She told her the pounded yam incident, the new change in her boss, his girlfriend and the hospital. "Wow, my sister you went through a lot o!" the girl said. "Yes o." "But are you thinking what I am thinking?" "What are you thinking, madam?" Chioma said. "Maybe your boss is falling for you." "Me? No! How can he fall for me, an ordinary house help, and leave his classy beautiful girlfriend?" "Hmm, are you not prettier than her? I am saying what I am seeing. Even the way you praise and sing his name these days, search your heart very well, you love him too." Chioma blushed. CLIFFHANGER: Just then, Sandra's car drove back in. She entered and saw Chioma's friend. "Who is this beggar in my boyfriend's house?" Sandra shouted. Chioma stood up.
