“Why did you do it?!” I asked after we had gotten the details of the way the deal went down.
“Why did I meet with her family and plan with them? So they wouldn't miss out of course. Afterall, it would be really bad and sad if they didn't know about their grandchildren,” she said, looking unapologetic with a mild smile.
Stella had gone mad as this wasn't the one I grew up with. Everything connected to her just kept going from bad to worse with her around or absent.
