A song in the air

201 Words
The next few weeks passed in a blur of fleeting conversations with Liam. He would pop into the bookstore when he had time between gigs, and soon, their interactions grew more comfortable. They shared stories of their pasts, their dreams, and their quiet moments of doubt. Liam played his guitar at a small café every Friday night, and he invited Anna to come listen. That night, as the last of the sun dipped below the horizon, Liam strummed a soft melody on his guitar. His voice, husky yet tender, filled the air. "I didn’t think I’d ever find someone who understood silence the way I do," he sang, looking directly at Anna. "But you, Anna, you’re the calm in the storm I’ve been searching for." The words seemed to sink into Anna’s soul, leaving her breathless. She had heard songs about love before, but this felt different. This felt real. Liam’s eyes never left hers as he sang the last note, his voice trailing off into the night. The café fell into a stunned silence before the applause began, but Anna barely noticed the crowd. She was too lost in the moment, in the certainty that something was changing between them.
